Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    Russia has its own interests and imperialistic ambitions as any superpower in the world. What I am saying is that we must use it if it is in our interests but not become 100% dependent of them as it is now. Armenia must look for alternatives that would be the real balancing (or complimentary policy how Oskanyan has put it).

      We are doing that, we are in the Eastern plan of the EU we were planning to do exercises with NATO till they xxxxed it up. We have soldiers in Iraq don't know if they are still there but we have had them at one time.

        Well you said it all...

              I agree! However at the same time we shall always bear in mind that whatever it takes FOR Armenia! If at any given time Russians will not consider us politically or otherwise in a good frame of mind, than we should do whatever we must do for our benefit! Let us never forget that fact! Armenia and Armenia's profit first and above all!!!!!!!

                Sevres Treaty as an Armenian Precondition to Talks with Turkey?
                [ 2009/04/18 | 14:40 ] politics

                Hetq - News, Articles, Investigations

                Shushan Stepanyan

                At a press conference held earlier today Turkish studies specialist Raffi Kurtoushyan stated, “Turkish politicians and reporters are always talking about three preconditions, of which only two are discussed in Armenia. And these are misleading.”

                Mr. Kurtoushyan noted that besides the issue of the 1915 Genocide and Karabakh, the third precondition of Turkey is that Armenia sign off on the 1921 Treaty of Kars.
                The major aim of Turkey, which isn’t mentioned in Armenia, is the signing of the Kars Treaty. Turkey can ask - how can I open the border if you, without signing the treaty, do not formally recognize me? If Armenia were to take such a step it would mean that we’ve formally given up on Kars and Surmalu in eastern Armenia and all of western Armenia.”

                Mr. Kurtoushyan noted that Turkey mad the same ploy regarding Cyprus. “We just can’t sit and state that we don’t want any preconditions. Armenia has to respond with such a set of preconditions that Turkey will back down from claiming theirs.”

                The Turkish specialist proposed that Armenia demand the exclusion of the Karabakh issue from the agenda and that, “If they are pointing to the genocide issue as a precondition, we must come back with the issue of the Etchmiadzin diocesan properties and those that belonged to the Cilician Catholicosate. What’s become of these holdings? They want to open up the archives? Great, but we should request that they open up their property registers to see what’s happened to the properties once belonging to Armenians.”

                Mr. Kurtoushyan suggested that if Turkey puts forth the Kars Treaty as a precondition to normalized relations then, “we must put on the table the Sevres and Lausanne treaties. If they want a committee of historians, fine. But we should demand a committee to look at these treaties as well. Let’s discuss the entire range of issues and come to some overall declaration.

                  Thanks Eddo jan for the article. And how come our men in AR aren't putting any preconditions like that on the table? The turks want the borders to be open and putting three preconditions and what about us? Instead of them we must put it out not them?

                    Let me say it truthfully as I see the true picture here. First these Zionist Jews try to uproar and turn our country upside down by trying to choose their candidate Levon the traitor on our throne to be president, when that didn't work out, now they are trying to buy out the newly elected president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan by making him to open the borders with our number one enemy to as if to collaborate with the turks. But the real intention of these Zionist Jews along with their turkish counterparts is the following:

                    1. take away and sit on our Artsaxian lands;

                    2. to teach our children in the schools that such Genocide to the Armenians didn't happen and that it was only a myth;

                    3. to have our President sign the illegal Kars Treaty;

                    4. to cancel out the legal Sevres Treaty and the Wilson Arbitration; to put the final stone for us ever getting our Western Armenian lands.
