Many Armenians words are of Persian, Hindi, Indo-European origin.

Ask an Indian or Pakistani what the Hindi or Urdu word is for "thousand."

By the way, what do Armenians call Greece? I guess we should shorten that to "Houna." Georgia should become "Vra." Poland would be the best though: "Leha."

Many maps of Historic Armenia in Armenian language call Greater Armenia "Hayk", and Lesser Armenia "Pokr Hayk". The "stan" obviously appeared after years of Persian occupation.

Although Armenia was originally called Hayk, we can't just change it today, because it is known as Hayastan in the hearts and minds of millions of Armenians worldwide.

btw Tomservo, Vrasdan's proper name in Armenian without "stan" is Virk.
