The question now is ;

Is OTAN better than the CSTO ?
In :
-equipement
-arms
-military experience
-countries participating ( if they are "good at wars" or not)
-solidarity ( if one country fight , how will the other react ? Will they fight 100% or only fight because of the obligation ...)

If anyone can compare those , it will be very nice !

NATO of course. CSTO is mostly Russia with a few small countries behind it. I doubt Armenia will get support from other than Russia in a potential war.

NATO of course. CSTO is mostly Russia with a few small countries behind it. I doubt Armenia will get support from other than Russia in a potential war.

The exact same is true about nato: it is nothing but the US uniting a bunch of cowardly european armies, and of course good old turkey, as they cower in the face of Russian might.

Armenian Troops Wrap Up ‘NATO-Style’ Drills



Hundreds of soldiers from a special Armenian army unit contributing troops to U.S.-led missions abroad ended on Thursday three-day military exercises which the Defense Ministry in Yerevan said confirmed their conformity with NATO standards.

A ministry statement said the 600 volunteer servicemen simulated their participation in a multinational peacekeeping operation in the presence of U.S. military instructors at a training ground of the NATO-backed Armenian Peacekeeping Brigade. It said they specifically practiced “deployment of rapid reaction forces” with the help of military helicopters.

The statement said the exercises also involved a successful “self-appraisal with NATO standards” by the brigade’s Staff Company. It said U.S. and other NATO “consulting teams” present at the drills agreed with this assessment and reaffirmed the Armenian unit’s interoperability with NATO forces.

The participating troops apparently included most of the 116 Armenian soldiers who trained at a U.S. military base in Germany from August 16 through September 4. The U.S. military organized the field training for nations involved in the NATO-led peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.

Armenia resumed its participation in the Kosovo Force (KFOR) in July, sending a 35-strong detachment to the former Yugoslav province. Some 130 other Armenian troops currently serve in Afghanistan. The deployments highlight Armenia’s increased military cooperation with NATO and the United States in particular.

The NATO-monitored drills overlapped with five-day war games that were held elsewhere in Armenia by the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a Russian-led military alliance of five former Soviet republics. Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov watched their concluding phase with President Serzh Sarkisian and other senior Armenian officials on Wednesday.

WHAT is that white rocket on the right of the screen at 1:50!!!!! That warhead is huge!! For some reference the rocket on the left of the screen is the S-24 which has a 125kg warhead. Doesn't look very aerodynamic but a 10 km range is significant if(probably is) its deployed in Artsakh. Definitely Armenian made.

I am not sure the rocket on the left is the S-24 air-to-ground rocket. It could be something else. A better picture is needed.
As for the larger rocket on the right with the big fat warhead, most likely something homemade. Possibly a ground to ground weapon (could be air- ground as well). Judging by the size of the soldier next to it, the warhead must be at least 250 kg - possibly thermobaric. Looking forward to see more of this interesting rocket in the future.

Ս.թ. սեպտեմբերի 17-ից 20-ը ՀՀ ԶՈՒ խաղաղապահ բրիգադի «ԶԱՌ» ուսումնական կենտրոնում, ՆԱՏՕ-ի օպերատիվ կարողությունների հայեցակարգի շրջանակներում իրականացվել է խաղաղապահ գործողությունների սցենարով պլանավորված եռօրյա զորավարժություն, որն էլ իր հերթին ուղեկցվել է ՀՀ ԶՈՒ խաղաղապահ բրիգադի հրաձգային գումարտակի շտաբային վաշտի ՆԱՏՕ-ական չափանիշներով ինքնագնահատմամբ:
Ինքնագնահատման գործընթացը իրականցվել է արտերկրում համապատասխան վերապատրաստում ստացած և ՆԱՏՕ-ի կողմից հավաստագրված ՀՀ ԶՈՒ սպաների կողմից, որոնց աջակցել է Հյուսիսատլանտյան Դաշինքի երկրների զինված ուժերի ներկայացուցիչներից բաղկացած խորհրդատվական թիմը: Ինքնագնահատման գործընթացի աջակցման, ինչպես նաև գնահատվող ստորաբաժանմանը խորհրդատվական աջակցություն ցուցաբերելու նպատակով, զորավարժությանը, որպես դիտորդ և խորհրդատու ներկա էին նաև ԱՄՆ Կանզաս նահանգից ժամանած հրահանգիչները:
Զորավարժությանը ներգրավված էին ՀՀ ԶՈՒ խաղաղապահ բրիգադի վեց հարյուր զինծառայողներ, ինչպես նաև ՀՀ ԶՈՒ ռազմաօդային ուժերի ուղղաթիռներ: Վերջիններիս աջակցությամբ, զորավարժության սցենարին համապատասխան իրականացվեց վիրավոր զինծառայողների տարհանում, ինչպես նաև պատասխանատվության գոտում արագ արձագանքման ուժերի տեղակայում:

Ս.թ. սեպտեմբերի 20-ին, զորավարժության ավարտի կապակցությամբ, արդյունքների ամփոփման ընթացքում արտերկրից ժամանած ՆԱՏՕ-ի և ԱՄՆ խորհրդատվական խմբերը բարձր գնահատեցին ՀՀ ԶՈՒ խաղաղապահ բրիգադի զինծառայողների մասնագիտական պատրաստվածությունը, առանձնապես կարևորելով վերջիններիս գերազանց զինվորական կարգապահությունը: Արդյունքում` ՀՀ ԶՈՒ խաղաղապահ բրիգադի հրաձգային գումարտակի շտաբային վաշտի ինքնագնահատումը համարվեց կայացած, իսկ գնահատվող ստորաբաժանումը` «համագործակցելի»: ՀՀ ԶՈՒ խաղաղապահ բրիգադի հրաձգային գումարտակը ՆԱՏՕ-ի օպերատիվ կարողությունների հայեցակարգի չափանիշներով «համագործակցելի» է ճանաչվել դեռևս 2010թ. իրականացված կողմից առաջին մակարդակի գնահատման ժամանակ:

PKK-ն Թուրքիայում ամերիկյան անօդաչու հետախուզական թռչող սարք է ոչնչացրել (ֆոտո)

Թուրքիայի հարավ-արեւելյան Շրնաք նահանգի Ուլուդերեյի շրջանում PKK-ի (Քուրդիստանի բանվորական կուսակցություն) զինյալները թուրքական անվտանգության ուժերի հետ բախման ընթացքում ցած են գցել անօդաչու թռչող սարք:

Քրդական ANF գործակալությունը հայտնում է, թե PKK-ի զինյալները սեպտեմբերի 18-ի առավոտյան հարձակում են ձեռնարկել Ուլուդերեյի շրջանում տեղակայված զինվորական կետի դեմ, որի ժամանակ սպանվել են 4 թուրք զինվորականները:

Նշվում է, որ PKK-ի հարձակման ժամանակ բախման վայր է մոտեցել անօդաչու հետախուզական թռչող սարք, որը խփվել է PKK-ի կողմից:

Թուրքական Hurriyet-ը նշում է, թե ANF-ի ներկայացրած լուսանկարներում խփված թռչող սարքը Ինջիրլիքի ամերիկյան ռազմաբազայում գտնվող Predator հետախուզական թռչող սարքերից մեկն է, որոնք Իրաքից բերվել էին Թուրքիա: Ամերիկյան կողմը PKK-ի դեմ պայքարում հետախուզական տվյալներով աջակցում է Թուրքիային եւ այդ թռչող սարքերն օգտագործվում են PKK-ի դեմ:
