The aforesaid squad comprises 54 rescue specialists, MES press service informs.

Armenia’s recue squad, which is led by MES Rescue Service Director, Major General Sergei Azaryan, will participate in “Georgia 2012” with corresponding fire and rescue equipment and tools.

Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan likewise was on hand at the rescue squad’s official seeing off ceremony.

In line with the scenario of “Georgia 2012” field training, a strong provisional earthquake has struck Georgia’s central part, and search and rescue teams from a variety of countries have rushed to provide help.

During the seeing off ceremony, Azaryan noted that considering the fact that the aforesaid training is being organized in the neighboring country, Armenia decided to participate with a larger team and to enable more rescuers to improve their expertise.
