14.5-mm IST-14.5 Anti-Material Rifle Istiglal produced by the Azerbaijan Defense Industry Ministry was exhibited for the first time in IDEF 2009 exhibition in April in Istanbul, Turkey. 20-kg rifle is used on vehicle.

Azerbaijani-made IST-14.5 – Istiglal sniper rifle was for the first time demonstrated in the foreign stand at the SOFEX-2010 special operations forces exhibition in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

reportedly one Istiglal sniper rifle was exhibited in the stand of the Royal Special Forces of Jordan, alongside with the weapons used by these forces. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense Industry Yaver Jamalov told APA that the sniper rifle had been presented to King Abdullah II of Jordan. Istiglal sniper rifle is the first national weapon produced by Azerbaijani engineers. The effective range of the rifle is 2200m, it can also be applied against the armored vehicles.
