Sounds interesting. Our economy could benefit from this

So ohanian confirmed the iskander deal?

Thanks shant for acknowledging my statement, tsov I am saying that what they say about our units is a sham, since I have a cousin serving and he is being fed 3 times a day and lives in a great condition, but when the skirmish occurred back in August, they were gathering up young people and sending them to the front, even those who have served before,We should acknowledge and discuss some of the things that do happen regardless if its in our benefits or not,I don't think its sign of desperation per say to gather up civilians and take them to the front, since during any war in history, every government did the same thing,For example Iran did it during Iraq war even tho they had 35 million population and were advancing in the war,but what's the reason we do it?is it that we have shortage of soldiers?thats what I'm asking the experienced members of this forum, most of them are older, some have served and most of them lived in armenia quit longer than i did, they know better than you and I

And the thing I wanted to point out is that saying "civilians" is highly misleading. If they have served they are reservists and eligible for call up. The rest of what you said is completely reasonable and understandable.

They don't randomly pickup people to fight.
First there is the young people who are on the frontline 24/24 there. Then , if more is needed volunteers usually come. 80% of the time this is enough. When this isn't enough on some frontline other people , with military training naturally get called.
It's not that they go on the street and say you are going to the frontline.

This is ridiculous, both sides have 20,000 troops on the border.

Shant, Armenia has this thing called conscription. Men above a certain age must register with the military and many are forced into service. That is what Russia, India, and most nations do. Half of Armenia's military is made up of professional soldiers (volunteers), while the other half is largely just conscripts.

Military units rotate at the front, this doesnt happen just when there is a skirmish because its impossible to organize a group of men from reserves and allocate them/brief them within hours of a fight. This is ridiculous.

What your cousin most likely described is just rotations and conscription, no one is forcing civilians to fight anything. Thats pure fairy tales.

Armenia doesnt have a shortage of soldiers, it maintains an army of about 50-60 thousand men with a little over half being conscripts. Without conscription, Id say Armenia would be able to maintain an Army of about 30,000, with the airforce being cut down significantly along with artillery divisions. (The above count includes Artsakh btw)

I just brought my cousin as example to debunk the Azeri claims about the conditions in the Armenian units, what goes about the taking soldiers to front line was what I saw and heard while I was in armenia, thinking they are locals they might know something more than I do,perhaps it was overexagurated a little by the people,I was told not to go to city center thus I'll be taken to the front.thanks for the clarification it now sounds more simplified and organized the way you put it
