What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

Azerbaijan to strike Karabakh after Iran is attacked

YEREVAN - The third world war over Iran may start this summer, head of Russian Liberal-Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky said.

“After Syria is rolled over, Iran will be attacked. Azerbaijan will use it to seize Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenia will oppose, Turkey will support Azerbaijan. It is how Russia may be involved in war this summer,” he said addressing the participants of party’s demonstration.

Russia must protect its southern borders, Zhirinovsky considers. He offers to hold president’s inauguration in April, as the armed conflict can break out in May, Interfaxreports.

Presidential elections in Russia are scheduled for March 4.

      3) That the quality of the Georgian made armaments is good.

I think those are major assumptions and ones that you shouldn't make.
      1. Its not issue of affordability in future, but capacity to MANUFACTURE! as to whats to come in future its affordability to have 100-200 engineers and scientist to work on prototypes (no need for serial production). The issue is capacity and ability and ingenuity which they acquire and we lack or loose because the Soviet generation is dieing off and new one has no experience in such matters.

      2. We DONT have capacity to manufacture AFV APC .... vehicles just REPAIR them and during repair, we replace older parts with newer ones so you can call that RETROFIRING. Industrial capacity in Armenia has been largely destroyed or left to rut or sold off or .... Georgia has capacity to retrofit and manufacture AFV APC and even Su airplanes (most of it due to soviet inheritance). For us to do this interdependently without Russian investments in our Military Industrial Complex would cost us billions and we could never afford this. Naturally Georgians received aid in most if not everything they do now, in form of financing and know-how.

      3. Quality i agree totally! They manufacture garbage their AFV and APC can ben destroyed by Russian BMP-1 models. Its the future development of industry and research that will make them SUPERIOR to Armenia! Think ahead for 10-15 years then you would realize this. If you are in US think back 10-15 years ago Chinese made products are total JUNK but now they manufacture high tech military components for US Military and highest quality consumer goods like iPhone. I just hope Armenia manages to enrich its military industrial complex and becomes an exporter to be able to afford future expansions in this field. Russians are helping us and are our allies but in terms of military assistance they dont do as much as general public thinks they do. Most of our achievements are due to our own drive to better ourselves! We need diversity and stop relying on Russia so much because in 10-15 years when there is government there that is not so friendly Armenia wold be swallowed up by our adversaries because we lack our own domestic means to protect and fight the future wars.

Most people are ignoring the reason why Georgia is trying to make domestic weapons.

“After 2008 [war with Russia] procurement of arms became problematic [for Georgia] and although it lasted for several months, those several months have taught us a lesson and we realized that you can’t rely on anyone except of yourself,”
Thus, they have troubles obtaining quality Russian made armory, and at the same time the West screws them (which should be no surprise actually). Hell, Israel gave the codes of their UAV's to Russia... at least we make our own UAV's.

The cost of making these weapons is FAR more expensive for Armenia, as we obtain them at a discount rate or even for free. Georgians are jealous, as everyday they look into the sky, they see shipments of high-quality Russian made armory being sent to Armenia for free or at a discount rate, whereas they are working their ass-off and are investing huge amounts of money to make two, three crappy low-quality vehicles.

With the millions and millions we have to pump into research and testing alone, which could take decades, we can obtain hundreds of pieces of weaponry. It is merely for propaganda purposes, as I would bet the Russian equivalent of those vehicles which have undergone more than 60-70 years of improvement, far outclass their domestically made vehicles. It's even stupid to discuss this.

What Armenia should do, and what Armenia is doing, is updating the REPAIR factories, which are of UTMOST importance during war time. We need to have the knowledge, know-how and equipment to repair all those weaponry (tanks, anti-air systems, missile systems, etc.) we receive from Russia. Also, the only beneficial thing for Armenia to do is to UPGRADE the existing armory we receive from Russia, which we should be able to do in our "repair" factories.

Furthermore, all other smaller materials, such as bullets, RPG's, etc. is important to produce locally, and Armenia is heading the right direction in this regard. If, in the future Armenia is in a different situation, more stable and far more rich, we can start discussing producing "cool" things ourselves (such as tanks and heavy armory).

Feb 14, 2012 Armenia, Russia Plan New Military Deal

Posted by KJ on February 14, 2012
Armenia and Russia plan to work out a new agreement that will deepen the already close ties between their militaries and defense industries, top security officials from the two countries said in Yerevan on Thursday.

Armenia and Russia plan to work out a new agreement that will deepen the already close ties between their militaries and defense industries, top security officials from the two countries said in Yerevan on Thursday.

Armenian and Russian news agency reported that Artur Baghdasarian, secretary of Armenia’s National Security Council, and his visiting Russian opposite number, Nikolay Patrushev, signed a relevant memorandum of understanding after two days of negotiations.

“The protocol envisages concrete positions, including on deepening cooperation in the military-technical field and establishing joint defense ventures in Armenia,” Baghdasarian was reported to tell a news conference.

He said the two sides agreed to form a joint working group that will draw up the new Russian-Armenian defense accord. Neither Baghdasarian nor Patrushev gave further details of the planned deal.

“During the meetings we talked about our military and military-technical cooperation,” Patrushev told President Serzh Sarkisian later in the day. He was quoted by Sarkisian’s press office as calling the talks “productive and useful.”

“I am glad that the Russian-Armenian allied relationship is dynamically developing,” Sarkisian said for his part.

Moscow and Yerevan signed a far-reaching defense agreement as recently as in August 2010. The deal extended the presence of a Russian military base in Armenia by 24 years, until 2044. It also committed the Russians to helping the Armenian military obtain “modern and compatible weaponry and (special) military hardware.”

The military alliance with Russia has long enabled Armenia to received Russian military equipment at discount prices or even free of charge. Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian spoke on Wednesday of new “long-range and precise weapons” delivered to his troops last year. But he did not elaborate.

Incidentally, Ohanian was also present at Patrushev’s meeting with the Armenian president.

Patrushev, who previously headed Russia’s powerful Federal Security Service (FSB), visited on Wednesday the Yerevan headquarters of Russian border troops guarding Armenia’s frontier with Iran and Turkey.

Baghdasarian said on Thursday that the two sides also agreed to bolster security at the Armenian-Iranian border. But he did not clarify whether that is connected with the situation in Iran or the Islamic Republic’s nuclear standoff with the West.
Russia is integrating Armenia's defense enterprises into Russia's military-industrial complex. Again, most countries woud be jealous of this development, as our engineers and scientists will work together with top-class military specialists and obtain the know-how and technical knowledge of the most sophisticated military weapons in the world.

Also, the coming years more defense enterprises producing high-quality military equipment (decades and decades ahead of Georgia or Azerbaijan in terms of technology and development), will be established in Armenia.

People have seen some plastic and are starting to cry again, it's amazing how easy it is nowadays to manipulate Armenians...

Tell you what, how long do you think you are gong to last without Moscow? Look at how many weapons the Yahoodi is selling to Azerbabboonistan. This is a disease that seems to inflict my fellow Western Armo’s, I’m so grateful that Hayastansti’s are not like this, otherwise by now we would be finished. Long live Moscow! For Christ's sakes!
