You are stating the facts ( on the ground ) correctly but you are concluding wrongly.

If you follow the news ( from Armenia ) you should have heard that even the President was complaining in disgust about the level of corruption and incompetence.

To remind you, the police force, the squandering of resources in the building of the museum, the pensions scandal, soldiers being given non qualified meat, orphanages being given spreads and being charged as butter, the prices medicines being scandalously marked up etc etc.

There are core reasons for this, which the President did not go into.

The monopolistic practices, corrupt courts, oligarchs behaving with impunity and the list goes on.

The more you sweep it under the carpet the longer the people will suffer and take desperate actions among others leaving the country.

Yes the name of this thread is “military balance .......”.

Do not forget that the balance contributor is ( has to be ) always the economy.

I suggest you come down from your high horse and stop being an apologist for the wrong doers in our Hayrenik.

        .
PS ....and to hell with Sahakashvili.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

thanks londontsi for a wonderful post and wonderful reflection of my post. I said so little in the post but meant much more. For the last time Armenia is a corrupt country which our president and authorities and the authorities before them, are doing and have done A LOT to improve and by looking from the 1990s till now you should be very proud of the job done over there still needs a lot of improvement to become close to something that we all dream about. And as you can see yourself there are people who are fighting to minimize the corruption. BUT all of us armenians need to keep in mind corruption factor is distant second compared to the blockade and no sea factors that are affecting our economy. And stop blaming the president and the corruption level for all the bad things that happen in the country. you want an example? LEBANON. WHERE I LIVE much WORSE, much more corrupt believe me but better economy WHY? THE GOOD OLD SEA.

I agree to end the political discussion...but due to the utter ridiculousness of this post I feel compelled to respond.

I am aware of Armenia's geographic position. It is not an excuse. You are the typical apathetic, lazy Armenian that says "Oh, it's too hard let's give up." Better stay in Lebanon, Armenia does not need bums such as yourself. The challenge itself is in circumventing geopolitical realities. Let me be clear, it has to be a challenge that Armenia is willing to face. Otherwise, Armenia will soon be void of Armenians, and Turkey will have its dream of Pan-Turanism.

But again...Sarkis86 is right this is not a thread for political discussions. This was my last deviation from topic.

Who are you, another Diaspora Armenia, to tell me what is right and wrong about Armenia. You are just as detached as I am.
