Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Re: Bashar al-Assad, Syria and the Armenian people

Armenians in America and Canada had the unique advantage of coming from the region, of understanding the region, and being from an historically Christian nation (and a still Christian community as far as Syrian Armenians). That would have given them a voice far louder than the Islamists and would have embarassed most of the neocons and the j e ws into silence. But you blew it. Just like you blew it with Iraq. The end result will probably be the extinction of Syrian Armenian community, in the same manner as the Iraqi Armenian community was destroyed
Perhaps you have gotten a transmuted forum of Armenian Disease?...LOL

Do Armenians have the Senators in their pockets? Do Armenians make the policies of the USA and England to the point of killing their own people? Do they control Hollywood and all the press? Yet they are guilty of not having subverted power to prevent the tragedy! So lets do what we call in the West "Blaming the Victim"

Ok Thanks again for nothing Bell, for blaming us for something we had no notion or power to control yet trapped and getting our people killed. This is not enough blood letting for you, you must take the extra moment to dig deep with your proverbial screwdriver and dig into the aorta of ones heart and blame the suffering. Perhaps you get some sort of sadistic joy from this?

Oh and the best part, we blew it in Iraq...LOL!!!!

Yes it was all you Armenians that did Iraq not the J ew but us! We did Iraq...LOL!!!!

Come off your Sh!t horse I will not allow you to ride it no more!

In post number 419 br Vahram --- ( paraphrase ) Armenia has one of the very few MORAL lobbies in DC .
The word I'm getting from the perennial walkers of the halls of congress ( US ) is that's true and the Armenian lobby actually has more respect for their decent behavior .
I have checked and rechecked and those in the " know " continually confirm the integrity and decency of the Armenians .
Also I have to agree with Vahram again on the --- $2 & running on fumes --- comment .
All things considered they have done an amazing accomplishment for a people who went through 600 years off --- and a genocide and a Russian occupation and a world that wants to be a buddies with kurdurks .
      Honestly

This is who we are, this is what we stand for, and for $2 dollars we have this much respect? Honesty never lost it's value contrary to what Bell has been telling some of you!

General update on Armenians in Syria:

          - Aleppo's Armenian populated districts have been calm for months now and all of them remain under government control. Midan district (80% Armenian) remains at the front line that separates government controlled districts with rebel controlled ones.

          - About 10 Armenians are currently missing or kidnapped with some requiring a ransom for release. The latest Armenian to be kidnapped was a middle aged man in eastern Damascus just last week.

          - Armenian village of Kesab remains under government control but has seen clashes. The village's Alawite minority have formed militias to defend it. Not sure if Armenians are participating though it is highly likely they are.

          - Armenian village of Yacoubiyah came under FSA control yesterday amid clashes. The church was sacked but no word on whether any civilians were harmed.

          - The Armenian community maintains a positive neutrality stance with regards to the conflict while most Armenians remain privately pro-government. Many Armenian youth are guarding their own neighbourhoods as volunteers.

Hey Vahram i think you been smoking the bad stuff man cause your perceptions are way off. I didn't even mention Armenian let alone bash it. The armenian lobby takes your money puts it in the pockets of people who make this world a shyyty place. I see it all the time we funded Karl Levine here in Detroit for decades and all he does is support all the things that hurt armenians and armenia. That is just one example and there are hundereds of such examples. Forget about middle east communities and focus on Armenia you say? Ok well what is being done to focus on Armenia? For years i have been writing in this forum that we need to stop waisting money on polititions and start a program that helps armenian young men and women go visit Armenia to establish a bond with their land and a relationship with their people but hey the diaspora is paying for the senetors summer home so the kids will have to not go to Armenia. I see middle east armenians spending thousends of dollars more to go arab countries countless times but they have never set foot in Armenia. Armenian hayday you say? Like when the hell did this happen? The Armenian hayday will come if we Armenians will get our heads out of hairy arsses and plan for a future as a nation instead of cheking out who is wearing what in church.

ARMENIAN KIDNAPPED IN DAMASCUS SET FREE

              10:42, 30 January, 2013

YEREVAN, JANAURY 30, ARMENPRESS. Our compatriot Nazareth Charkyan, who
had been kidnapped days ago in Damascus, was set free. Our compatriot
living in Damascus Nazareth Elmajyan informed "Armenpress" about this.

In addition he stated that he has been released after paying the
ransom. The amount of ransom has not been clarified yet, it has only
been declared that the ransom paid did not match the demanded amount
              of USD 500 thousand.

Previously on January 23 it was stated that unknown armed men kidnapped
Armenian from Damascus Nazareth Charkyan right from his workplace and
demanded LS 50 million, which equals approximately to USD 500 thousand.

General situation in capital Damascus is calm; clashes flare up in the
villages nearby. Syrian SANA agency states that the governmental forces
destroyed vehicles belonging to the rebels, which were exploited to
transport arms. A number of armed rebels have been killed and wounded
in Duma village. Their weaponry has been confiscated.

In accordance with the UN data clashes lasting about 22 months in
Syria caused death of over 60 thousand people, including more than
              four dozens Armenians.

80 Bodies Found Shot, Bound in Syrian City of Aleppo

The bodies of at least 80 people have been found in the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo, each with their hands bound and gunshot wounds to the head. Amateur video shows the dead corpses laid out after being collected from a bank on the river. Most of the victims appeared to be young men, possibly in their teens.

Israel wants Assad out, because they want a Jordan like government in Syria that will pander to the Turks/Saudis. Israel is doing everything to weaken Iran's influence.
