The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Can you guys imagine what would happen if we caved in to the west? Did you see how USA stabbed the kurds in the back? That is the exact fate awaiting us if we leave Russia and join the West. I wonder how many such examples people need to finally understand that Armenia does not really have much of a choice. The kurds were used by the USA like a tampon and then discarded bloodied and all. Open your eyes people.
    Hayastan or Bust.

--- used like a tampon --- Too funny.

SEE the USA STAB kurds in the back.
The Kurds were the only one to hold the foriegn jehadis from a free romp in certain areas. The USA utilized this to their benifit and were in very close contact with them.
Look how fast USA sold out the Kurds. The USA elite got no heart.
      Beware.

It appears Putin is not prepared to exchange broken Syria with broken Ukraine.
Historically they were both his !!

The west broke both and then trying to exchange one with the other as if it was their domain, ( sphere of influence ).

Syria has a huge geopolitical significance in the energy transportation field.
Ukraine would collapse without Russian gas.

            You could be right.

This news is apportioned to The Moscow Times.
Cannot find anything on their web site.

On the other hand this was a behind closed door exchange.

I cannot imagine such a leak published in Russia without the editor of the paper held upside-down and shaken until everything drops out of his pockets.

Without the confirmation of Moscow Times ( unlikely) I would say the jury is out.

Worth looking for clues in the relations Turkey /Russia and Putin/Erdogan.

                --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BRITISH SAS SPECIAL FORCES "DRESSED UP AS ISIS REBELS" FIGHTING ASSAD IN SYRIA

                [ Part 2.2: "Attached Text" ]

                By Stephen Lendman

                August 05, 2015 "Information Clearing House" - On August 2, Britain's
Sunday Express newspaper headlined "SAS dress as ISIS fighters in
                undercover war on jihadis," saying:

"More than 120 members belonging to the elite regiment are currently
in the war-torn country" covertly "dressed in black and flying ISIS
flags," engaged in what's called Operation Shader - attacking Syrian
targets on the pretext of combatting ISIS.

Maybe covert US special forces and CIA elements are involved the
same way. During Obama's war on Libya, Britain deployed hundreds of
Special Forces Support Group (SFSG) paratroopers - drawn from SAS
(Special Air Service) and SBS (Special Boat Service) personnel.

Around 800 Royal Marines and 4,000 US counterparts were on standby
to intervene on short notice if ordered.

The latest revelation comes two weeks after learning Prime Minister
David Cameron last year approved British warplanes joining US ones
in bombing Syria despite parliamentary rejection in August 2013.

At least part of its current covert ground operation is under US
command - so-called "smash" units traveling in pickup trucks able to
launch mini-UAVs to scan terrain for targets to attack.

Over 250 UK (and perhaps US) specialists are involved to provide
communications support, the Sunday Express explained.

British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said "(o)ur actions and
surveillance capabilities are freeing up other countries to strike
                in Syria."

UK SAS forces are in Saudi Arabia training anti-Assad terrorists
along with US operatives doing the same thing - including in Turkey,
                Jordan, Qatar and perhaps Israel.

US and UK claims about training so-called "moderate" rebels reflect
smoke-screen cover for working directly with ISIS terrorists -
trained, armed and funded abroad, funneled cross-border into Syria
to fight Assad, now with US/UK and Canadian air support along with
                covert commandos on the ground.

The Express cited former British Army General David Richards saying
"tanks will roll" as part of UK operations in Syria.

A separate article discussed US airstrikes defending ISIS terrorists
serving as US foot soldiers against Assad.

The Wall Street Journal reported what appears ominously like prelude to
Libya 2.0 - falsely claiming Obama authorized airstrikes against Syrian
forces if they attack (nonexistent) US-supported "moderate" rebels.

Separately, Turkish media reported President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
saying Putin may have softened on Assad. (H)e may give up on" him.

Obama said he was "encouraged by the fact that Mr. Putin called him
(in late June) and initiated the call to talk about Syria."

I think they get a sense that the Assad regime is losing a grip over
greater and greater swaths of territory inside of Syria and that the
prospects for a (jihadist) takeover or rout of the Syrian regime is
not imminent but becomes a greater and greater threat by the day. That
offers us an opportunity to have a serious conversation with them.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said both leaders discussed combatting
terrorism - especially the Islamic State.

"The Russian view is well-known," he explained. "(I)t was reiterated by
(Putin) during (his) conversation" with Obama. It hasn't changed.

Putin opposes outside interference by any nations in the internal
affairs of others. He supports the sovereign right of Syrians and
other people to choose their own leaders and legislators.

Putin aide Yury Ushakov said "the current leadership of Syria is one
of the real and effective forces confronting the Islamic State."

Nothing indicates less Russian support for Assad.

BRITISH Special Forces are mounting hit and run raids against Islamic State deep inside eastern Syria dressed as insurgent fighters, the Sunday Express can reveal.

US HOLDS SECRET TALKS WITH RUSSIA ON MIDDLE EAST BEHIND EU'S BACK

High-ranking Russian and US military officials are holding "secret
negotiations" to reduce tensions between Russia and NATO, Spanish
news website Mil21.es reported, citing anonymous European intelligence
                  sources.

The secret talks are reportedly taking place with the approval of
both the Kremlin and the White House in Northern Europe, Mil21.es said.

The negotiations began after Washington allegedly decided to change
its strategy towards Moscow, making concessions on Ukraine in exchange
for the Kremlin's support of new US geopolitical plans in the Middle
                  East, anonymous sources said.

The United States needs Vladimir Putin's support to stop ISIL's
expansion in the Middle East and to "make some changes" within the
governments of some Persian Gulf states which distanced themselves
from the White House following Washington's successful nuclear deal
                  with Iran, Mil21.es said.

© REUTERS/ STRINGER ISIL is Secret American Army in Middle East - US
Historian According to European intelligence sources, the United States
initially supported the ISIL militants in their attempt to overthrow
the Syrian government led by Bashar al-Assad. At the same time, ISIL
received significant financial support from the Arab states of the
Persian Gulf, especially Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as well as logistical
support from the Turkish government on the Syrian-Turkish border.

However, the situation soon backfired on Washington. The United
States became seriously concerned with the events in the Middle East
after ISIL announced the creation of the Islamic Caliphate on the
territories it had conquered and began to recruit jihadists from all
over the world, the Spanish news portal said.

US intelligence agencies actively cooperated with their Mossad
counterparts in Israel, which allowed them to have a detailed picture
of everything that was going on in the Middle East. However, the
Iranian nuclear agreement made Israel unhappy, causing a reduction
in the exchange of intelligence information between the two countries.

Now Washington needs new allies and intelligence sources to keep the
situation in the Middle East under control.

All of these factors have prompted Washington to reconsider its
strategy towards Moscow. By finding a compromise with Putin and
obtaining Russian support, the United States now wants to properly
address the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, a region Washington
considers a lot more important than Ukraine, the Spanish source said.

Ukraine crisis: Why a lack of parts has hamstrung Russia's military

A Russian Mi-26 helicopter: Ukraine stopped delivering engines for the military versions
Russia's defence firms have been hit not only by Western sanctions but also by a breakdown in business ties with Ukraine.
For decades under Soviet rule, Russia's strategic industries had close links with partners in Ukraine, all centrally controlled from Moscow.
But relations soured last year, with Ukraine's pivot to the West, Russia's annexation of Crimea and the pro-Russian insurgency in eastern Ukraine.
The EU and US banned military exports to Russia, saying Moscow was supplying the insurgents with sophisticated heavy weapons and regular troops. Moscow denied the allegations.

                      Equipment blocked

Last month, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told parliament that Ukrainian components were used in the production of 186 types of Russian military equipment.
That is a serious problem, he admitted, and Moscow could resolve it only by 2018.
Back in June 2014, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko ordered a halt to military co-operation with Russia - and that has shut down several projects.

An-22 - Antonov planes are the transport mainstay of the Russian military
Ukraine hosts the design bureau of Antonov military transport planes. The economic freeze has blocked plans to deliver a new heavy transport plane, the An-70. And this month, Russia stopped producing another transport plane - the An-140.
In February, Russia closed another programme - Rokot space rockets, which had been putting military satellites into orbit.
The Russian navy has suffered too. It was awaiting three Project 22350 frigates (Admiral Gorshkov-class), but they did not arrive because Ukraine did not deliver the turbines for them.

                      Air transport problems

Communist-era production cycles involved defence plants in several Soviet republics, but they became independent states when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.
Since then, Russia has become dependent on Western electronic components - especially computers, vital for all modern armies.
In a high-profile setback for the Russian navy, France cancelled delivery of two Mistral helicopter carriers. France finally agreed on a compensation deal for Russia this week, after long negotiations.

President Vladimir Putin has boosted military spending and accused Nato of trying to weaken Russia
Since 1991, Russia's armed forces have continued to rely on Antonov transport planes - the An-26 (for lighter loads), An-12 (medium loads) and An-124 (very heavy loads). For the heaviest cargoes, Russia also has the Ilyushin-76.
All Antonov planes have Ukrainian components. Experts say suspension of the An-70 programme will not affect the Russian army much, but the lack of components for An-140 production will be a problem.

The Russian air force and navy had already received up to 10 new Antonovs before deliveries stopped.

There is an urgent need to replace ageing An-26 planes - production was discontinued in the mid-1980s.
Russia could revive plans to build a light cargo plane, the Ilyushin-112, but that means finding reliable Russian replacements for Ukrainian components.
"Whatever option it decides to go with, Russia's efforts to revamp its fixed-wing transport capabilities are being affected by the crisis with Ukraine in ways that go beyond the An-140," wrote analyst Gareth Jennings in Jane's Defence Weekly.

Pro-Russian rebels near Donetsk: Skirmishes continue with Ukrainian government forces
Ukraine has also been a key supplier of engine components.

In May, the Ukrainian company Motor-Sich stopped deliveries of helicopter engines for combat helicopters, but continued taking orders for civilian helicopters.
Mr Rogozin said Russia would strive to integrate engine production for the navy and air force, to reduce costs and move away from reliance on Ukrainian and Western equipment.
But a previous Russian attempt to reduce the military's reliance on Ukrainian equipment was only partly successful, Russian military expert Alexander Golts told the BBC.
"We can't take Mr Rogozin's statements at face value. We can believe them only when we see the first Russian gas turbines [for the military]," he said.
