Re: Who owns what in Armenia
Vahram My Dear,
Pernod Ricard is a french Alcohol Giant, well known for his capacity to conquer new markets, if need be with the use of "non conventional levers" (=bribes). In a period of a lifetime, this small french family business turned wold N2 in alcohol, just behind the Brit Diageo....
But let me ask you :
- Who sold the company Ararat and its assets + Brand to Pernod Ricard, and why? (it was state property, and did function even in 92..., when boxes were sent to London, in same planes that were bringing in help...., that is the company was one of the sole gems of the national treasury)
- How came that the price payed was so ridiculously low? (40 Million USD) At that time, only the underground reserves of the company contained Cognac spirit several times more valuable, sometimes nearly a century old.....
- What made that the Prime Minister of Levon, notorious thief Mr Hrant Bagratian, (a candidate to presidency lately) be appointed vice president of Ararat Cognac factory under Kocharian, once he lost his job? Why was Pernod obliged to pay him that kind of salary for so long???
- There are other "Armenian" owned cognac producers in Armenia. Actually a dozen.
Let's remind 3 famous names: Dodi Gago, Hovig Aprahamian better known as "Mouse" (next President of Armenia), Artur Baghdasaryan, the well famed president of OY party, via his family 'holdings".....
How comes, that all farmers of Ararat Valley and Tavoush, dream of a contract with Ararat (Pernod Ricard), (who does not pay well at all, but at least pays), and hate doing the same with any of those famous good boys??
