Ohanian would represent a continuation of the current ruling power whose ranks are filled with oligarchs. Much like Serzh, he will be forced to give these guys the preferential treatment they've been getting for the over a decade. Ohanian seems like a good person, and a competent military leader. But being president is about so much more than that. I recommend you listen to some of Pashinyan's speeches. The guy has clear ideas and detailed and well though out policies.

Normally during war or imminent military threat to a country, its population feels better to have a leader that has military experience (actual even better) and be able to deal with the Turks to our West besides running the country. Then you have the Turkic Azeries who want to attack Artsakh.

The leader could appoint above type Armenian in his cabinet.

This isn't some fantasy fiction military movie civilization that you like to pretend it is. That's not how politics works, specially when talking about a small country with multiple existential threats, many of which are not even military related. If we were electing leaders based on military experience Jirayr Sefilian would be president for life. Political leadership is about balancing between delicate foreign relationships, working through various power structures, and making difficult choices and comprises to guide your country to the best outcomes. My advice to you: post a little less, and learn a little more my young friend.

Serzh and Kocharyan had the same military experience. Having military experience doesn't make you oblivious to corruption. Ohanian is part of the same power structure that due to not having the genuine support of the people, is dependent on these oligarchs who are able to get them votes in their local fiefdoms in exchange for being able to continue their disgusting abuse of the local population.

and to clarify the earlier post by fed: Serzh had no problem with Dodi Gago and all his abuse and theft of our homeland while Dodi Gago was acting like a nice obidient fat dog who knew his place. Serzh only did something about Dodik when he got too ambitious and decided he wanted it all. And even by do something, all he did was shut him down politically, while still allowing him to continue all his economic plundering

Last two days theres been a 72 hour sit-in protest at Opera in Yerevan in regards to the once again price hike in electricity in the country. In just the past two year, the price has risen by 65 percent, and has gotten to a point where electricity itself now takes up 20-30 percent of people income. And this rise hasn't been due to investment in new power plants or infrastructure, but instead for the mismanagement of the ownership of the Electricity Network of Armenia. a 30% price hike two years ago was justified by a hike in the gas price. However, despite the gas price being lowered twice by Russia, the price has actually increased twice by the ENA, seemingly to pay for the bentleys and mansion for the various employees.

Ive been able to participate in the sit in and i couldn't be more impressed by the group of youth leading them. They are a bunch of kids in their late teens early twenties with no political affiliation. They by themselves negotiate with the police, mange every protester to make sure things remain peaceful, bring food and water for everyone, clean every inch the whole square as to not give the police any excuse to shut the protest down. It's really inspiring to see something like this. To see youth this invested in the future of the country instead of saying screw it, it is pointless, off to Russia/America - which was my impression of the youth in this country

The situation though has gotten to a breaking point. These price have gotten to a point where conditions are really not livable for the average citizen. The protesters have given the govt until monday to reduce the price or they shall march onto the presidential residence. I hope the government realizes what it has to do and lowers the prices.
