Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

True, but just because some people feel hatred, does not change the facts.

When German Nazis murdered 6 million xxxs, it was not an actual clash of civilizations (although the Nazis thought so, which is why its bad to use these kinds of words and ideas, it only blinds people). It was simply a political matter, the Nazis were a political movement, a movement which used trivial and superficial differences between people's backgrounds to warrant their massacre, in order for political gain (even though killing your own citizens is not good politics, precisely why the Nazis lost). The German people as a whole, and German culture, was not opposed in any way to xxxs or their culture. It is only when one side abandons their culture that they stoop to the level of animals.

Wow, and I've always thought that all racial/ethnical confrontations were cultural clashes!

ArmSurvival the things that orlandu has posted are maybe a little extreme but please think what whould happen to the people in ROA if Turkey would invade and win the war 1915 would repeat itself so I have familie living there in ROA. I don't know if you have famalie living there or not? but my point is if you had you would do anything to protect them from any harm to come to then and if that means to kill a thousand turk so lett that be the price I need to pay to keep my familie in Hayastan safe and recover ou ancestoral land

Karo, though I am BeirutaHye, I have family in Armenia as well, so I share your concern (I'm concerned about every citizen of ROA). I have no problem if you're talking about killing and maiming Turkish soldiers. If someone enters your country, you have to make them leave one way or another, and the Turkish army is one of the most brutal armies in the world next to Israel's (and just as inefficient, hiding behind numbers and superior technology, etc.). What I don't like is when people talk about killing all Turks, hating everything thats Turkish, and this talk about killing millions of them to get revenge. Turkey doesn't have millions of soldiers, so they are obviously talking about killing ordinary citizens. Women and children pose no threat to our country---the army does.

Its not "maybe a little" extreme.... there is nothing more extreme than what he said. If this type of attitude is allowed to live and grow within our own ranks, then when it comes time for war, these "patriotic Armenians" are going to kill women and children by the thousands, and they'll think they are doing God's work, and we will be no different than monsters like Al-Qaida. Basically, we will alienate everyone from our cause, including many Armenians.

Plus, Turkey can't just invade whenever it wants. The geopolitical situation has to favor them, which it currently does not, especially with the big bully Russia protecting us (and stealing our country from us in the process).

Russia will not be there for ever and they can witdraw their troops 5 years later and what would then happen so we need to upgrade the army before the politics in russia deside that they need their troops back home and we're left alone like we have stood alone most of the time. And there is something I remeber from my childhood when I lived in Armenia after the war many people where complaining that they hadn't gas or electicity for a few months so if we evre want to conquer our lands back the people their must be ready to live a few monts of maybe years without all that luxary. so there are many things to chage and maybe many years will pas before we get our lands back but one day we will have it back

True, there might be a day when Russia is not there. However, Russia's interests are vested in Armenia. Russia owns key sectors of the Armenian economy, and their interests (along with Iran's), are opposed to American-Turkish-Azeri interests. Things change, but as of now, this is how they are. We have one good neighbor in Iran, and a bully protecting us in Russia.

I don't think they would voluntarily withdraw their troops either. It gives them leverage in the region. If they could, they would still be occupying all the former Soviet countries. In fact Ukraine and Georgia are trying to break away from Russian influence and gravitate towards the west, and we saw what Russia thought about all that.

I don't think that Russia will witdraw it's troops voluntarly but they could need soldiers but many things can happen and I don't think we need to break away from Russia but ROA need's to retreav his troops from Iraq and support a free Kurdistan so that way we could get another ally in the region that hates Turkey. And things are not looking good for Turkey at all if a free KUrdistan ever will exist and they will be supported by all major powers in teh world but its almost 12 o'clock at night and I'm thired and I got to get up really early so I'll post the rest of my taughts tomorowwhen I get home

Very interesting topics, guys. Well, I'm glad that Russia (which is very powerful right now) and Iran (also pretty powerful) are with Armenia, but what we really need is the US's support. Anyway, as for the cycle of genocide, I really don't think the Turks will be able to committ another genocide, even if there is a war, because there are so many advances in technology, that it would be almost impossible to cover this one up. If Turkish government even tries to kill a village in Armenia, they'll be screwed (or at least they better be) before anything else will happen.

Just look through a few Turkish forums and you will see who the real descendants of Nazis are.

I'm quite aware of the extremist element in Turkish society. But if you're going to give the impression that Armenians are hostile to everything Turkish, the moderates in their society, whether they like it or not, will have to side with the extremists. If you only oppose the extremists, the only ones opposing you will be the extremists, and everyone around the world including those within Turkish society will believe you because they will see who the real fanatics are. Turkish society isn't one homogenous group, but the extreme nationalists, since they have the support of the army, get to bully everyone else around, including a significant portion (maybe even the majority) of the population who consider themselves Muslims before Turks.

If we go about it this way, then our enemies will be much fewer.
