Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I agree. So, it's less about which non-Armenians Armenians are marrying/reproducing with, but that they are marrying/reproducing with non-Armenians.

What things are contributing to this and which of them can be swayed?

Well I think that fact that there are other ethnic groups around whereas in Armenia there basically only Armenians, has a role to play. Also, I think the Asiatic influences on Armenians has led to Armenian men not always treating Armenian women well. Now, I am not one to think that men and women are equal, we are not, men are good at certain things, women at others but we all should be treated with dignity. Gender roles exist for a reason, but that does not mean that a husband should be an authoritarian or on the flip-side be a door-mat. What Armenians need is a catharsis, a good hard look in the mirror. Not the ara baliozian kind though.

Armenians marrying non Armenians would not nearly as much of an issue if it occurred in Armenia, because then the kids still grow up in an environment that will give them the culture.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

Armanes what asiatic influences ,we had 70 years of closed soviet (russian, slavic) influence, just a correction.

And if a man is behaving in such way then he is a shame for himself and to all our male gender.

Love is a choice to be given to and trust someone, start that with one of your kind.Know what you want in your life dont let media and Hoolywood twist you, making one modern roman prostitute of yourself men and woman included.

I agree. 90% Armenians should marry Armenians. But I know of a man that married a non-Armenian woman, and they have
a child. He is as passionately pro Armenian, strong character, personality, and you couldn't imagine a more patriotic
person. She is white. (Or do I have to get politically correct not to offend anyone, unintentionally, caucasion).
I am sure she has adjusted to the Armenian way of life and culture.

I do believe there are those exceptions when two people fall in love, granted.
I am uncomfortable for many reasons.

            I am not racist.

There was a policy Euskal Herria, Euskaldunak by outlawing the speaking of Euskara.
Now there is a great loss of those that can speak their Euskara.
It is rightfully called a Genocide by some.

In the past, I do not know how it is presently, Euskalduna is were not allowed to sing the patriotic song Gernikako Arbola as some got exiled.
There are some Armenians that cite there is a relationship of the peoples going back to way back when.
It is cited this and that historic place names, etc.
I did see a word in Euskara that sounded and was spelled similar or reminded me of 'herenik',
            but who knows?
It is sad when a people mix down to an extent wheather naturally or forced by a policy, that
results in the next generation that does not speak the language, know the culture.
Though I must add that even IF a child for whatever reason does not have knowledge
of the Armenian language, or exposure to the culture, later in life it can be possible to
            make up for lost time.
There is a resurgence of Euskara taught in the schools in Euzkal Herria (yes, I know the
autonomus region known as Euzkadi), in an effort to revive the soul of the people.

IF Armenian language and culture is NOT preserved due to mixing outbound, then the
entire essence will go the way of those ancient cultures like Sumarians that we only
now read about and are not here today.

Parents do not always take into consideration the difficulties children will have.

Exception is IF the new spouse or lover, GF, BF whatever, decides to accept the
way of life or make some kind of effort to get into it, that is acceptable.
(I know, I have horrible spelling. Don't judge a person on this).

I'm not certain what influences you're referring to (can you elaborate on this a bit please?), but I think a push towards treating one another with mutual respect would be a huuuuuge step in the right direction. I agree, men and women are not the same, but I believe that they should have the same basic human rights.

We agree then, that if women are unhappy for whatever reason, it would be more productive to try to get to the root of the problem than to restrict their freedom as a means to getting them to conform?
