Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Iranians did not force those girls to sleep with them! If you want to blame someone for being sexually permiscuise then why are you blaming the Iranian? He didnt raise the woman he is sleeping with. If the Armenian woman wants to sleep with a Iranian guy thats her business, if there was a better armenian alternative she would prefer it but.. Sex is a whole another topic i bet many here have distorted notions about but i dont want to go off topic.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a noise?

If the Iranian wasn't there in the first place, there wouldn't be any "business" transactions. That's what is called having economic power over another individual. You think Mexicans sell themselves out to Americans and other foreigners because they want to? Hell no... $10 to them is like a fortune.

Armenian girls (or boys) pick others because they are influenced by the Western culture, which KanadaHye mentioned is totally opposite of our Armenian culture.

If Armenia had a population of over 20 million, we would not have a population shortage and would not have to worry about assimilation, but if you like it or not, we are in a difficult situation not comparable to other countries.

Assimilation is one of thé greatest threats today for us Armenians.
You dont understand assimilation. Assimilation should be used in Armenia, by accepting foreigners and letting them live there not shutting them out and being racist. Those foreighners will assimilate into our culture if they and their decendents continue living in Hayastan. Assimilation is inevitable as i described previously, no matter how hard you fight it you will either assimilate or you will become a distorted form of what you think you are trying to preserve. Only by living in Armenia will you be safe from assimilation. Racism is a huge enemy here it prevents the country from growing by making others unwelcome. The sooner guys like you understand this simple fact the sooner our country will prosper.

Living in Armenia and copying western culture doesn't prevent assimilation. Your liberal views are understandable but disturbing. If Armenia was a nation of 30 million, then what you describe would be beneficial.

Re: Armenia stands today because of Iran?

We do not talk about individual cases, we are talking about what the government must do to lead our people (or what our culture must promote). There are enough people who want to use drugs, but it is not good for society.

Assimilation is a great danger and making it difficult or at least not-promoting it (better discouraging it), is good for the well-being of our Armenian nation.

The same about the Armenian church, one nation, one church would not divide our people into groups. There are some Western churches whose sole purpose is based upon anti-Armenian values, like the Jehovas Witnesses (and to some extent the Evangalic church).

Too much freedom will lead to chaos and the destruction of the Armenian nation.

I mean the same, if Armenia promotes marrying non-Armenians and does not set the example (so if it does not discourage it, or try to explain why the ideal situation would be if Armenians married Armenians, in Armenia and in the Diaspora), then why should the Diaspora Armenians marry Armenians?

Then it would become normal for us Armenians to marry whoever we want, and assimilation would go even further. We can not permit it, again, we are different situation compared to other countries.

Obviously they needed that $10 and they found a way of getting it. If she cannot find another way to get that $10 to feed her or her family can you blame her for entertaining men to get it? Both parties get what they want.

Re: Armenia stands today because of Iran?

The flaws in the logic you use are glaring, if armenians always married armenians then how the hell do we get last names like azizian, melikian, parsigian....?
I was saying that most of the Armenians married other Armenians, furthermore the Persians and Turks have Turkified (and Persianified) a lot of our names, which does not mean we mixed with them.

Hayasa-Azzi was a confederation where we have our roots, Azi (azizian) is not an uncommon word in Armenian history.

But is it good for the well being of our nation? There are enough people who want to buy as well as to sell drugs. This does not mean we can let everything happen.

Exactl, many last names were changed legally by the governments (especially those from Turkey) which is why you have so many Armenians with Turkish last names. It's not due to mixed marriages.
