Re: Who is the Armenian girl that our guys strive to marry.
There are many kinds of "western women". As much as some like to put down feminism, it has had good and bad effects: The good is that now there are independent women that have earning power and don't need a man to survive. The "bad" is that the traditional marriage thing that so many old-timers like to cling to just doesn't work anymore. People get together, go their separate ways, have a lot more freedom and less need to commit. This isn't necessarily bad unless there are kids involved.
But "western" girls are MUCH less dependent on their men's money than the traditional girls that depended on the man's money 100%.

Looks
You are probably not the very attractive type. Most guys would rate you around 6/10, maybe less. You don't get flooded with attention, but you get enough to take it for granted (meaning that it barely registers consciously, but subconsciously you expect it). You claim, to yourself and others, that looks aren't as important as intelligence, both to yourself and in your choice of a mate. Utter lies of course. If you had the choice you'd be the one every girl is jealous of; but I'm sure you'd have a hard time admitting it to yourself. I bet you even attempt to "convince" yourself otherwise by mentioning it to friends/colleagues at opportune moments.
Personality
You have a superiority complex. Though you may not openly admit it to others, you feel that you are much smarter than most (or all) men around you, and as a result you have a hard time accepting criticism. You surround yourself with others who would most likely agree with your points of view so you can reinforce your own idea of yourself. You may even have a decent IQ score and pride yourself with it (Secretly or openly you probably believe that your higher intelligence makes you better than others). You have absolutely no trouble applying twisted logic to all your interactions. The double standard comes naturally, and you may not even notice it. If you cannot beat an argument you'll find other ways to "win". If given power you most likely would abuse it, but will justify it with the fact that since you're intelligent, smart and "better" then your point of view is correct and needs no scrutiny.
Am I getting there? 60%, 70%, 80%?
Here is a hint.
Future => 12 cats (or maybe a whipped husband whom you'll treat as your slave. There are a LOT of women like you in the academia (in the west). And most end up either alone or with a poor schmo who gets pushed around).
But, I'm sure you're not one of them

see ya'll in 30 days. Another ban coming soon.
Come on .. be honest ... you copied this out of one of those generic self evaluation quizes out of a women's magazine, right? The language sort of reminds me of the "horoscope" type drivels that you see all over the place
I haven't followed this thread much but I could only hope there are a lot more women in academia like Siggie. And for the record, "ending up alone" is really not so bad if the alternative is ending up with a "traditional" type of guy that treats women like his property.

If there are Armenians that think this is acceptable behaviour, then I don't know where they learned it from.
Isn't there an Armenian saying about women being like wool i.e. requiring beating to make soft?
Perhaps some of our members who reside in Armenia can answer your question. Unfortunately, I fear they've long since checked out of this thread.

Also, no... I didn't say people are always rational. Sadly, we're often not, although we should always strive to be.

Ah, so now people lack self-control?
