What cultural traits do Armenians share?

The whole area between Ancient Greece and Ancient Armenia (which is now Turkey) was inhabited by Greek-like and Armenian-like people, you know all those Lydians, Cappadocians, etc, it was sort of a "gradient" from more Greek on the West to more Armenian on the East. At least that's how I see it I don't think there were any strict borders of what was called ancient Greece, after all it was a bunch of city states with a more or less Greek culture, reaching as far as Ukraine and Georgian coasts...

Yeah I'm talking of a large period of time, pretty much the last millenium BC plus a few centuries AD. Before our lovely neighbors arrived

And I don't remember all the nations, but some were more Armenian and some more Greek in that area. Sophenes, Pontics, Galatians, God knows what else...

I suppose they are all melted in turks now.

There is an undoubtable similarity between the current Greeks and Armenians even. Its pretty clear that we are tied historically, I just did not know the details.

Where did the Georgians come from in all of this?

Georgians have always been there Right after the pre-humans migrated from Africa they settled in Georgia and refuse to move anywhere up to this day

Seriously, I think there are theories connecting Georgians with the pre-Indo-European civilizations existing in Europe, the only remain of which being Basques right now.

Interesting...I have heard that Georgians are the true "Caucasian" people as in...they are the ones who originated in the Caucusus.

I even heard that the reason the word Caucasian has come to be used to widely is because a German Anthropologist/Sociologist decided that Georgians had the most beautiful skull and that all whites should be named after them...or something...

I havent done any serious research on these things though, what do you guys think?

Yes the Georgians are indeed an enigma - though I have to think we are closely related even though the language is certainly much different...though I've been shot down for suggesting our closeness before - so perhaps we aren't - I really don't know.

Basques are also a fascinating people. We have some Basque friends whom I like to refer to as our (Armenian) cousins. They look much like us - hair, face (nose!), builds etc - and have some similar traditions and perhaps even foods (I can't recall any at the moment though)...I have long thought (and I have read some things suggesting) that there might be a possible link. Again though - I really don't have any proof or such...and I think no one really knows.

That's cool I didn't know we look like them too yes I heard there are theories connecting them with Georgians and maybe Armenians, but they are largely disputed and not accepted in Europe...

I find the use of word "Caucasian" ridiculous. Especially by Americans and Asians, they use it to mean "northern Euro look". Russians use it for exactly opposite - meaning dark skin, big nose, thick eyebrows (see my avatar ).
