I wasn't talking about assimilating with the foreign nations as you stated. (Although they are more now, because of the economic situation in Armenia, girls from poor families marrying Arabs, Iranians etc)
What I was talking about when I said westernized, was couples living together before marriage. But I guess they are so pure in Armenia that they only hold hands at night until they get married.
And what part of the culture is untouched in Armenia? Some Armenians who moved out of Armenia have kept their culture alive more than most currently living in Armenia

Just like the non-Armenian spouses of Armenians who say "love is for everyone, and everybody should have the right to get married." True, they should, but I think thats a bit selfish considering that belief is going to (and already has) led the Armenian people into a almost extinct race. I understand, its human nature. Illogical, but human.
I'm sorry if I come off arrogant, but I have yet to say something untrue.

Originally posted by aceThe elders that I respect, appearently, would think your a very bad role model for the Armenian youth (or for me). They'd probably say somethin like "Mer myreri yev kerer serpootsune petka pashpanenk" or some xxxx like that. Respect your elders chrissy...
I respect those who respect me.

Originally posted by aceNo, im not unclear. Most people are just emotionally driven rather than logically when it comes to this issue. Their own personal life conflicts with my ideaology so they defend it with their last brain cell. Its selfish. Most Armenian women who oppose my ideas are honestly defending themselves more than anything else.

And some armenians in Armenia show complete disrespect towards our culture. Whats ur point?
My pint is, you keep saying how The Armenians in the republic are the last of our ORIGINAL AND UNIQUE culture.
I am just trying to tell you it's not the case, not for everyone.

Originally posted by CrissyIn regards to marriage with "Otars". I believe it all comes from the Armenian spouse. They have the choice to raise her family as Armenians. Those that don't probably got fed up with negativity from those around them. Accept them and see the difference. Some of my friends have married non-Armenians, they're spouses are learning Armenian, their kids speak Armenian, they go to the same church have the same beliefs. They keep the culture alive. This is from what I've seen.
But theres a big difference between the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of your people, and caring about your people.
Criss jan, if we all got married to otars, and spread the ideas of our culture. Yah, sure, let the whole world know about it...let them see how great of a people we've been...but whats any of that worth, when theirs no full blooded armenians left? Do you really agree with the fact that aslong as people acknowledge our culture thats we've done our job in the preservence or our people? We've come to long fighting to let our people die in the midst of all this freedom we have.
Assyrians anybody?
