The construction of the building in question was started by a Maffia type who made a ton of money in Russia after the Soviet collapse. While in Yerevan, I heard that the man in question was murdered in Moscow by rivals and, as a result, the construction of the building had stopped.

Hmmm, they were still working on it this time last year. The statuary is so beyond bad taste that it is hillarious. I was going to take pictures of the whole ensemble, but then though that probably those inside would not be the sort of people who would like pictures being taken.

There is an even bigger but equally ugly carbuncle on the north side of the city, built by the owner of Koytek (or however its spelt) beer. With a big private chapel attached (where his probably numerous sins can be forgiven). I only drank Kilikia after seeing it.

PS: We also know that money does not buy good taste, nor manners.

And that, my friend, is an example why Armenian government 'efficiency' harms the people and the economy. Just in that one example a form of foreign investment was diverted away. Like I said, Dodi Gago should be shot. Phuck him and his family and his genes and down to his miserable soul. I hope he dies of cancer.
