Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I agree. I think we all need to look at this maturely. Although it is very true that many Jewish organizations work on behalf of Turkey, they are playing the real-politik game the same as any other national group. Israel see's a lot more to gain by have a strategic alliance with Turkey than with Armenians. Whether you agree or not, Israel feels it needs a Muslim ally and a regional ally. For all we know they may not even really like or appreaciate Turkey but that doessn't matter.

From their standpoint they probably wonder why Armenia has good relations with Iran and Armenians are generally pro-Palestinian.

Whether you think it's right or not, the world is a one big zero-sum game.

You're right! Neither country really has a lot of choice right now. Armenia cannot fully form any alliances with Israel/US, because if they do, they will get eaten up alive in that part of the world. They have to appear neutral and stay closer to Russia and Iran in order to appease the Islamic/Arab world next door. They cannot form alliances with Turkey, even though that would be the best choice, because Turkey cannot be trusted as a friend and ally until they get this Genocide issue straightened out. And of course, Israel doesn't have many options for friendship in that part of the world, so they have no choice but to do the Turks' bidding. I just wish Israel would get some balls and at the very least stay neutral on the Genocide topic rather than do all of Turkey's lobbying. At least Armenia doesn't go around the world telling people that no Holocaust happened.

      • Krunchy, I'd like to note, in passing, that Mein Kampff reached Turkey's best-seller list not too long ago. Not everyone in this world is as one-dimensional as you make them out to be, and this entire Judeophobia is being taken entirely out of proportion.

        • Sometimes laying low is the better option. We may want to be good neighbors with Iran, but carrying all their opinions and policies is the stupidest idea in the world. If Armenia did something as ridiculous as deny the Holocaust, Armenia would be xxxxlisted as ignorant and hypocritical for the rest of its history. Israel, on the other hand, is very good at saying things that will piss off only Arabs and no one else. That is why most of their outrageous policies fly under the political radar.

And, unfortunately, if we as Armenians can't take militant action against oppressors, then there's nothing we can do and nobody in the world would care. THAT is why I regard Armenian battles fought and won in Armenia and Karabagh to be heroic. It's the few times in our history where Armenians have proved that, failing all else, they can hold their ground with force.

            • Dude, NO. You missed the entire point. I said, that the only time Armenia has ever accomplished anything was when they used military force. I didn't say they were weak, I said when Armenians decided to fight, it proved successful. Armenians have achieved almost nothing for themselves through treaties and documents, but have achieved much more by picking up arms and defending themselves. What did you think I said?

About Israel; what I meant to say was that they, as a nation, have been very good at incurring the support of the governments in Western Civilization.

              • When you do Google news search on “Armenia” you will see how many headlines will show with “Bird Flu” although there is no Bird Flu in Armenia, and when you do the same search on “Turkey” you will see non although the flu problem is there, what does this tell you?

                Comment

                • I actually didn't see many articles for the Bird Flu, and those that I saw were, for the most part, Armenian news sources.

Those people were banned from the forum because they were making overtly racist and hateful remarks, such as "Turks are scum", "Jews deserve to be killed" or things like that.

What Reincarnated said wasn't breaking any forum rules.
