Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Hey bell the cat, you aren't Armenian are you? I seem to recall you saying you aren't and I am wondering what your ethnicity is.

    • English is my second language too actually. I spent my childhood in Azerbaijan and Russia. That excuse doesn't work on me. I didn't say I don't understand you. I always understand people even if their grammar is terrible. It's called figuring things out. Anyway, this is a nonissue.

As for your US Armenians hypothesis: I have been to Armenia, and five other countries, and I pay attention to international news, I know exactly how the world views the Genocide. Living in the US alone does not prevent people from knowing the truth. That can happen in any country (ie even Turkey). Most Armenians on this forum are well aware of world issues and world views. Don't you worry about that.

Don't think my goal is to attack you. I think it's a bit sad that you have to get your "fun" this way. That's all.

We all know the purpose of archives "to enlighten history". But twisted minds like you don't ever want to see real arabic papers...

You are denying real archives in every means possible. I think you are the one and the worst of humankind. I didn't ever meet people like you...
Question to brainless diaspora freak: where are your archives?

Poor little Turk, do yourself a favor and quit while you can. No one buys your Turkish government stamped bromide here.

You could have answered my question about the Ottoman Archives by just saying "I don't know". Instead you chose to proudly wear the mantle of idiocy like your pal Cemil.

You are living in US but i don't think that you are aware of world's view and the truths about your so-called genocide. It is just a political material in infamous countries.

Oh actually i'm worrying about you because your mindless so-called genocide are going to crash one day and nobody will be your side...

And other guys you really amazing. If the "denial" is the case you are the absolute winner.

For you, go and check out some real archives instead of your brainwashing

But you have already claimed that the Armenian genocide never happened and that I am a believer of fables. You hae made it plain that you will consider anything that acknowledges the claim of genocide as biased in favor of the Armenian position.

Reasonable man are not like rock, not static. He changes over time. I am serious for learning. You can change me. Sticking to fables, though they were refuted, is not virtue. I am asking you for help to help me Armenian standpoint: Documents, analysis all ok. All those Turks you quoting were once denialists, at least in their youth age. They have changed, so why dont i? One Turk believing/recognizing ArmenianGenocide is more important than many non-Turkish genocide believers.

You can show your diffirence by being reasonable and polite.

                Regards.
I think that your attitude here is a ruse. You have already shown your mind is made up when you called my beliefs fables without (admittedly) knowing the first thing about what it is I believe and why. You are here to deny the genocide just like your idiot friends Cemil ("If I only had a Brain") and NoThinkTurk. I just made several posts where a number of interesting points where raised and your only response is that these people (The Turks) were once denialists? ...you have proof of that? not that it matters - it is an irrelevant point. These individuals are engaged in honest scholarship and analysis - regardless of Bell the Cat's claims - and I wont bother to go into his biases and issues. A thinking person would have some response to Ackam and bertay's insightful analysis. A thinking and feeling person would ponder the findings and verdict of the UN peoples tribunal and consider the words of all these and ponder what they are saying concerning Turkey and about what happened to the Armenians and an honest thinking person might consider that the various claims made by the turkish government in the face of all of this may in fact be self-seving, quite dishonest and perhaps even criminal - eh? So prove to me you are this person you claim and not just another robo-turk who has come to these forums spoutinf stupidities and looking foolish and ugly.

                • emil - don't kid yourself and don't insult our intellignce - Ataturk never wrote anything so poorly in his life!

NoThinkTurk - gobble gobble gobble ! Yup - you haven't a clue concerning yoru archives.Sarfian and Ackam have both written extensively documenting how the Ottoman Archives are controlled in a manner that causes them to noty be considered "open" in any streatch of the immagination. Additionally the answers are not neceissarily in those archives as they were never a complete archives to begin with - and the recordkeeping has been typical Turk - if not blatently doctored certainly ineptly handled...but at least regardign the latter they are still aparently sloppy and ignorant enough to not even understand what they have there...

And Bell the Cat - I assure you - truth is much stranger then fiction and you haven't a clue (though I found your misinterpretations funny - as seen through your own lens without having properly listened or digested what I said - a problem that you obvioulsy have in other areas as well...). Besides I would never be troubled with something as petty as Kosovo - all I did was offer some policy advice to those who were possibly in a position to act on (recommend) it. Not that they would ever go for something so outside the box - no matter...a potential solution to the problem was at hand - just none understood...cest la vie...
