What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

Baku Stronger then Yerevan in Any Field, Aliyev Assures

    PanARMENIAN.Net

    02.03.2006 19:44 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "At present Azerbaijan has a major problem - the
Nagorno Karabakh one," Azeri President Ilham Aliyev stated. In his
words, other problems are gradually solved and works are held in all
branches. Talks are held to settle the Karabakh issue. "However,
our patience is not unlimited. We are not going to concede over
our territories. In any field - the military or any other - we are
stronger than Armenia. Armenia will never be able to compete with
us. We will finally choose the way to solve the problem, which is
the most acceptable one," the Azeri leader assures.

Karabakh Territory Talks At 'dead End': Azerbaijani President

      Agence France Presse -- English
      March 1, 2006 Wednesday 11:18 AM GMT

      BANOFSHALA, Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev said on Wednesday that talks
over the contested Nagorno Karabakh enclave were at a "dead end"
and signaled that the oil-rich state should prepare for war with its
      foe Armenia.

"The Armenian side is stalling for time and the fact that the
negotiating process has reached a dead end is the fault of the
Armenian side," Aliyev said during a visit to a sliver of Karabakh
      still controlled by Azerbaijan.

"Azerbaijan must review its position," Aliyev said, adding that
"military expenditures have grown" to be ready for "any eventuality".

"We are the victimized party and this gives us the right to resolve
the issue by any means. We must get ready and the population must be
mobilized," Aliyev said, stopping short of calling for all-out war.

Talks hosted by French President Jacques Chirac in Paris last month
aimed at resolving the 18-year dispute over the mainly ethnic Armenian
enclave within Azerbaijan made no progress.

Aliyev's comments were the strongest indication since the Paris talks
that negotiations were failing to achieve results and that Azerbaijan
would now consider the use of force to reclaim Karabakh.

"We are becoming the leading state in the region and Armenia cannot
      compete with us," Aliyev said.

Aliyev told journalists he had made a lightning visit to troops at the
ceasefire line that divides Azerbaijan-proper from Armenian-controlled
territory, one of the world's most militarized zones, on Wednesday.

Armenia and Azerbaijan fought a six-year war over Karabakh that claimed
around 25,000 lives and displaced hundreds of thousands of people.

It ended in a tense ceasefire in 1994 with Armenian forces in control
of most of the enclave and seven surrounding Azerbaijani regions,
      but Karabakh's status remains unresolved.

Many Turkush Goods Do Not Meet Requirements Of Armenian Standards And Technical Regul

MANY TURKUSH GOODS DO NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS OF ARMENIAN STANDARDS AND TECHNICAL REGULATIONS

        Noyan Tapan
        Mar 06 2006

YEREVAN, MARCH 6, NOYAN TAPAN. In January-February 2006, the RA
Quality Inspection made examination of 103 samples of 45 Turkish
goods taken from 42 economic entities at 6 test laboratories in the
country. According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Trade
and Economic Development, such chocolate bars as "Safari", "Derby",
"Nuss", "Shock", "Toy-Toy", "Elvan Shock", "Airways", "Aero Shock",
"Dynastia", "Miss Bis Dynastia" cannot be considered as chocolate since
they are made of vegetable oil. According to the Armenian standard GOST
6534-89, cocoa oil substitutes cannot be used for making chocolate
in Armenia. Flour was also found in the contents of "Aero-Shock"
chocolate bar which is forbidden by the indicated standard. The soap
"Tara" was found not to meet the requirements of technical requlations
by its physical and chemical properties, while tinnes peas "Fresh Peas"
        - by its tase and external design.

Based on the acts complied taking into account the results of the
conducted checks, instructions were given to suspend and forbid the
sale of the above mentioned goods not in line with the technical
        regulations' requirements.

Hasmik Manukian enterprise that imports the production of Elvan
company (Turkey) and is engaged in wholesale trade was ordered to
stop the sale of the indicated products, inform its costumers about
it and take such products back from its costumers. The economic
entities responsible for the sale of goods not meeting the technical
regulation requirements were fined in the amount of 2.3 mln drams
(about 5.1 thousand USD). The checks are continuing.

They can not survive without Turkish goods.
By 3rd parties they buy all of these goods and they are alot cheaper. They do not do business just because they are fans of the Turkish goods, because thats the only logical option for them. Turkey is not depending on Armenia, but Armenia depends on Turkey on this.

As you can see TUrkey is not imposing a total blockade and allows millions of dollars of business and also allow 30,000 Armenian citizens work(illegally actually) in TUrkey. They earn their money from Turkey. For a country like Armenia 30,000 is a huge number in my opinion. Turkey need not to allow this and could impose a total blocade, and you would see how life would be harder for Armenians.
And Turkey has rightfull reasons(eventhough I believe the border could be opened and relations improved despite Armenian policy) because they do not even recognize our Border, so how can a sensible person can agonize over the closure of border which is not recognized? If they want the blocade be removed first they should recognize the existence of the border first. I think it is fair enough...

Turkish deportees threaten to jump from roof

                9 March 2006

AHLEN, GERMANY - A Turkish couple, who threatened to jump from the roof of a three-storey building in a bid to halt the deportation of their family from Germany, eventually agreed to police pleas to abandon their protest.

The drama in the small western German town of Ahlen was triggered when police and immigration officials went to the building to pick up the couple and their three children, aged three, five and 18, to take them to Dusseldorf airport for deportation to Turkey.

This followed the rejection of their request for asylum to stay in Germany.

The arrival of the police and the officials resulted in a stand- off lasting several hours before the 46-year-old man

and his 44-year- old wife were persuaded to climb down from the roof.

Turkish General: If Baku Levies War, neither US nor EU Will Oppose It

                  25.03.2006 19:20 GMT+04:00
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ “I believe that Azerbaijan will win if it resumes the war. However, political issues should be solved beforehand because Armenians are not the only enemy to Azerbaijan,” Turkish Global Strategic Research Center member, General-Major-in-reserve Nejat Eslen told journalists. Turkish General says that Azerbaijan should solve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict itself. “Neither the EU nor the US will prevent Azerbaijan from making an attempt to solve the problem. Turkey must be ready to give any help because Azerbaijan is an important country for the world powers,” he said.

Saying that Azerbaijan and Turkey already act together in some issues, Mr. Eslen stressed that this cooperation will spread on the military sphere as well. “Being admitted to the NATO while part of the lands are under occupation will not be beneficial to Azerbaijan. The lands should be liberated beforehand because the US is converting the NATO to a defense bloc,” the Turkish general remarked, reports APA.

Jafarov: "creation Of Turk States' Parliamentary Assembly Worries Armenia"

                    Today, Azerbaijan
                    March 27 2006

Talks on creation of Turk States' Parliamentary Assembly worries
                    Armenia seriously.

"Armenian media writes that Turk nations will create Turan State
(Great Turkish State) and claims that and this state will be against
                    Armenians," Turkish-Azerbaijani Parliamentary Friendship Group
                    chairman, Nizami Jafarov, told APA.

He said that creation of Turk States' Parliamentary Assembly does
not mean creation of Turan State.

"Establishment of such an assembly is important for harmony in the
world and is not in contradiction with international juridical norms.

On the other hand, Armenians are very trifle in Turks' imagination.

Turks are 100 million in the world while Armenians are up to 10 million
only. However, after creation of Turk States' Parliamentary Assembly,
Armenian issue will be discussed there," Mr. Jafarov said.

Jafarov also said that Turkey and Azerbaijan discussed creation of
this organization and talks will be held with other Turk states in
                    near future as well.

Aliyev Says of “200-year Aggression against Azeris”

                      29.03.2006 02:44 GMT+04:00
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ “The policy of genocide and aggression pursued by the Armenian nationalists against the Azerbaijani people has a 200-yearhistory. The purpose of this policy is to drive Azeris out of their historical land and form on these territories Great Armenia invented by the Armenian ideologists,” says the address of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the people of Azerbaijan on March 31 the so-called day of Azeri genocide. The Azeri leader noted that Baku “wishes to settle the Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the framework of the international law.” “Our principal demand is the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and return of refugees to their homes,” he said.

In Aliyev’s opinion the “policy of aggression keeps Armenia aside of all the regional projects.” “We wish the historical justice be restored and people pursuing the policy of occupation and genocide be called to account. I am convinced that thanks to the national unity and purposeful activities we will achieve our goal and unmask all those who create hostility among nations,” the statement says, reported Trend new agency.

Let us note that 200 years ago Azerbaijan did not exist on the map and Azeri nation did not exist either. Russian general Anton Denikin in his “Studies of Russian Distemper” wrote about the formation of the Azerbaijani Democratic republic in 1918, “Everything in the Azeri republic is artificial, unnatural, starting with the name borrowed from one of the Persian provinces. An artificial territory pursuing the policy of pa-Turkism and pan-Islamism being an outpost in the Caucasus… artificial state system.” It should also be noted that 200 years ago Armenia was under the Turkish yoke and could not perpetrate genocide.
