Ooh, I was planning on seeing that. Now that it has your approval, I'll be even more motivated.

          • Yes, you should definately watch Cronenberg's Crash. It's very interesting and well done. But you need to be able to appreciate films that mindless critics would term artsy.

            • What about Naked Lunch? I wasn't very impressed with Dead Ringers.

              • Both of those are phenomenal though I rank Naked Lunch higher. Jeremy Irons performance had a great deal to do with the quality of Dead Ringers. One day, when I have the cash, I will track down a copy of the Dead Ringers Criterion DVD.

Crash was an awesome film, and a bit of a shocker. I can't wait to see A History of Violence. Today I was listening to NPR and they had Cronenberg on, talking about the movie. It was really great since he went in depth into the making of the movie and his intentions with many of the scenes.

                  • I've heard the less you know about the movie when you see it the better... any truth to that?

There is for me. I hate seeing or hearing anything related to a film I highly anticipate. I avoid the trailers like the plague and if the trailer shows up in a theater I'm in I actually close my eyes and ears (much to the embarrassment of my tolerant girlfriend). I don't look at production stills or interviews. Being completely fresh when you watch the film is the best.
