Arizona is also poplulated largely by old, rich republicans and the pop. density is much lower than in NY or CA. I'm sure the laws are a contributing factor, but not the major one.

I forgot one thing

more people get killed in the world by slipping in their bath tubs than from gun accidents.

and when kids play with guns that comes from the carelessness of the parent for not teching them safety and use of a weapon.
I see some kids at the shooting range with their fathers and believe me none of those kids is ever gonna pick up and play with a gun that they find.

CALI and NY where guns are strictly policized
only murders with firearms in 2002

theese numbers show something, what is it you say?
when the person knows that theres a possibility that anyone at anytime could be carrying a firearm, that person will think not twice but ten times before commiting a crime.
