actually i think it is deteriorating or something.. it used to be better. but not anymore, i loose reception easily, and they do not have that great of coverage, especially here in the hills of glendale!!! it sucks.. oh oh and not to mention there phones, as kewl as they might seem.. they are TOOO BIG!!!! lol

Well gevo, you can check out the websites for prices and such. I use Sprint . See how easy that was?

As far as the reception for Sprint, I have no other basis for comparison.

loll i know about checking the websites flames.. but i wanted real world feedback.. the prices are on the web, but not how good they actually are.. you dont have to compare reception just say where it doesnt work sometimes or if in buildings its bad or whaveter

Well, it's not too bad. It's not perfect, but I get by. For example, I never have reception in my underground garage, but perhaps that's due to the thick concrete ceiling. I mean, the phone rings and all, but when I pick up, neither end can hear anything. As far as overall usage, there's not too many places that it doesn't work, except for a few spots. Yes you heard me right, spots...as in certain spots in my room, hahaha. It's weird. I bet I confused you even more.

Verizon ... I've used it in the LA area, sacramento, up and down california, nevada, arizona, utah, southern Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, and many other states and I've never had a problem with signal quality where someone else with a different phone has had a better signal.

As far as customer service ... never had to deal with them much so I don't know ... but their coverage is great. If you travel a lot, get one of their "America choice" plans or whatever it is they call it. It's not completely national but close to it.
                  this post = teh win.

                    I LOVE my Nextel!
I have the 59.99 unlimited incoming 400 anytime (plenty for me since most are incoming), free long distance, unlimited nights and weekends, oh yeah, and aim for $5.
I get a 15% service discount because i work for Kaiser and all my calls for cust. service are answered immediately by Corporate Care. I went over my minutes before getting on this plan and I was able to buy "buckets" of minutes 300 minutes for $29.99 which they only offer to corporate customers... MUCH cheaper than what i would have been charged per minute over. They have discounts with lots of big corporations, universities, and state or county employees, but the amount varies.

The phones are expensive, yes, but you can get the cheaper price on a phone at any time, you just have to restart your contract. So, you dont have to wait 2 yrs like some of these other carriers to get a discount on a new phone.
