It takes blood sweat and tears to have that 100 dollars to send. And if those people were in Armenia they would have 0 dollars to give. So don't knock it Baron. Everyone contributes in different ways.

In general, the people sending 100$ are spending a lot more on useless objects (the 3rd car, building a swimming pool). Now that these people got their opportunity to make some money, maybe it is time to spend it in Armenia. Heck, you'd even be helping the country by doing your groceries.

And sending 100$, although it is a very nice thing to do, is only a band-aid solution...Give a man a fish, feed him for a day......

"ummm... hi, my name is patlajan, and what makes me Armenian is the fact that I send $100 to Haiastan every time I come back from Vegas..."

lol I just worked for 8 hours today and I made 100 dollars... but maaan you gotta see me... I'm bleeding and sweating and crying as hell..
I wish I could ignore you....

bah, they're all excuses, made by people who aren't ready to give ANYTHING up (although I'm sure that I'd be gaining a lot more than I'd be giving up). As surferarmo said, it's all about opportunities...

anyone here ever read the death of Ivan Ilyitch? Tolstoy is pure genius...

its all about a little word called ZOHOGHOOTYOON !! (SACRIFICE)
sacrifice you time, sacrifice money, sacrifice you're life.. sacrifice whatever you are willing or you think is needed in order to make things better for your nation.

we are alive today because our anscestors sacrificed things, and in order to prepare a bright future for our Armenian communities we must in turn sacrifice things to build this bright future!

but the question is who is willing to go out of their way to help their country? All i ca say is if your not willing to sacrifice time, sweat, or blood, you are not worthy of enjoying the greatness of being Armenian, the greatness that we have thanks to sacrifices!

yerani ayn hyoon vor oozelov geh zohvi ir azkeen hamar, vor gerdeh payloon abaka meh yegogh seroontin! Yerani ayn hayoon!

hyeclass.. see everyone has their priorities. Seems like your priority is to live for you and yourself alone.
now, one of MY priorities is to see armenians like yourself DEAD.

So you, who is by far the most pessimistic armenian i've ever seen, feel no obligation whatsoever to fix all those problems you know of? Was it JFK who said something along the lines of "It is not what your country does for you, it is what you do for your country"?

Or does that only apply to americans, and not to armenians, who truly don't give a xxxx about being armenian and who are too busy saving up money (or stealing it) to buy new mags for their benz? I bet you're also one of those who go around screaming "armo pride" and whatever. I can't understand how you can say you're proud if you just claimed that you'd live anywhere else but Armenia.
