Would you marry a person who isn't Armenian?

i have a few cousins that are married to 'odars' and i am happy to report that they; read, speak, and write better Armenian than I do!!!

so like i beleive it was mentioned before, if she accepts it and takes it on to install it in herself...why not? can't put a limit on love baby!

Which do you prefer? The fading of your culture, which isn't going to happen simply because of the mixing of nationalities, or the continuation of your culture with no changes, but in complete isolation, self-ostracized from all others?

I don't think that I would EVER marry a non Armenian. First off all, my parents would disown me. lol but the most important reason is that being Armenian is about marrying an Armenian and raising your kids as "Armenians." That's my point of view on that topic because I feel that if we dont marry within our own nationality our culture will slowly fade..

Anyway, the matter is not me. If you consider i'm french, for you only i may be french. But a culture is not so elitist and is opened to will. Even if you think that there exists a way of thinking directly linked to the language itself, which should be in fact almost true, this way of thinking is always colored by the experience you've had during your life (education, local culture...)

What i was trying to say is that no one else than yourself may give you a "quality measure" of your culture. It's too simple to categorize people in armenian & non-armenian, but it's not so "binary". You should have much more of the armenian culture than me, but I won't consider you as being "more" armenian than me, but rather a different person. Even in armenia, some people are much more cultivated, know much more of the litterature, art... Are they more armenian than the other ones, even if they live the same place ?

Some people in the diaspora hardly speak armenian, but are really involved in their community, or interested by this culture they have, in a certain manner, inheritated. It's certainly not their fault if they don't speak. Is this interest not enough to consider them as being armenian ?

Their is no true or false armenian. There is men having a part of armenian culture or interest.
