I'm the one who's scared xxxxless to approach girls.

I hate making eye contact with ugly girls though. I always wonder if they think I'm checkin' 'em out. That's why I never think eye contact means anything, even if it's multiple times within a short time period. Sometimes, I just look at a girl a bunch of times to see if they're looking at me so I figure girls do the same.

I really didn't want to respond to this thread because I don't like the person who created it. But, I think I think it's one of the best threads I've seen on this forum in a long time. So..ugh..thanx..

Alrighty. I have always thought of myself as a "ballsy" girl. Ever since I started going out and having fun (16-17), the whole rejection thing never really occured to me. I remember this one time, I was 15 or so..I was at a huge Armenian festival thing...and this guy, WHO WAS SO TALL YUM, just stood out from the crowd. I saw him, and like a friggin eagle that spots the fish in the lake...I just spotted him as my next target (victim) and just walked over to him. I saw his friends all around him, but I didn't care. I just walked right into the middle of their little circle...and BAM.."Hey I'm Violette....Ur cute..what's ur name (extending my hand for a friendly handshake)" The guy was just stunned for a second, then flashed me this huge smile...shook my hand, and we were inseparable for the entire event. Grr.. We actually "saw eachother" for a while after that, but then I fell in love with his friend..who ended up being my 1st kiss...EKHGKHGH.

What the hell was I talking about? Oh yea...I really never thought about getting rejected because I thought that it didn't happen to girls. I also never thought that so many girls would be against the first approach thing...but I guess times haven't changed much since 1902.

I have been rejected before, but it was by someone who I had a HUGE crush on. I was so obsessed with this guy that when I finally built up enough courage to tell him, he told me that if I had told him about my feelings a couple of months prior, before he started dating this girl....then he would want to be with me. OOOH MAN WHAT A LOSER I AM. It's okay though. I got over it. At the time, however, it felt like someone just ripped my chest open and ate my heart.

I know we all go through rejection in our lives, whether it's by the opposite sex, or not getting the job we want, or not getting into the right school...whatever. THe point is, unless u try, U will never know what the outcome might have been. That's just something that I could never live with. I have to know.
