Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

You should change your lipstick brand. That Ivy flavor is making you say stuff that other people don't like.

A virgin is someone who hasn’t had sexual intercourse…be it a man or a woman. You can’t always tell if a woman is a virgin or not because the hymen can break by using tampons, riding a horse/bike etc. Oh my was that too graphic?

Virginity is actually a very ridiculous term, in fact sexologists (yes... that's a real profession) don't use that word EVER because it cann't be defined. A perosn is a virgin until they have intercourse? Well what about oral sex? does a person loose their virginity after giving a certain amount of head? It's absurd... virginity is an ancient term which is no longer used academicly, and really makes no sense using otherwise either.

In my opinion, the idea percieved as 'virginity' is just a hurdle to get over. For some reason men like having their women be virgins at marriage. Good for them I suppose, but my opinion things tend to move smoother when two people in a relationship are of equal sexual experience.

What men are these? Granted, I don't know any Armenian men, but no man I've ever known would prefer to marry a virgin.

Regardless of my feelings, resulting from societal conditioning, I think that the ideal would be for everyone to have sex when they want to have sex as liberally as they want. The taboo connotation should be displaced entirely from the idea of sex. And, although I cannot do it myself, I do feel that ideally sexual polygamy would be accepted as normal.

That's what I said "for some reason men like having their women be virgins at marriage" implying that the majority of men WANT Virgins, while in reality, from what I've seen, relationships run smoother when two people are of the same sexual experience. Sorry if I wasn't clearer

I would not want a virgin and I have many friends that feel the same way. I would want to have sex with her before marriage to know that we are truly sexually compatible. I would like her to be experienced enough in that I would not have to instruct her beyond my personal likes and dislikes. Also, I would think that experience would decrease curiosity and would, in turn, decrease the chances of infidelity.

Goodness, for a second there I thought I was at the rodeo, there's so much bullsh!t being thrown around in here! I can't imagine why this term should be so difficult to understand. As with a lot of things in life it's not very easily defined, but then why should it? I'd personally rather not fit into a neat little definition set forth by, who? society? which society? religion? which religion? etc... I don't think a dictionary should be consulted to define anything that goes on between two people who are very much in lust or in love, etc. Whatever you do and whoever you do it with/ did it with should be your business and yours alone. End of story. It also shouldn't be a determining factor in relationships or anything else for that matter. For example, you go out with a girl who claims to be a virgin according to such and such dictionary's definition of 'virgin'. Turns out she's had oral sex. Is she a virgin still? Turns out she's also had anal sex. Is she a virgin still? Her hymen is intact, so three cheers, she's 'officially' a virgin. Right??

First of all, anyone who is having anal sex because that will allow her to retain the title 'virgin' is just decieving herself and any future guys she's going to have a relationship with. What a great lie to base a relationship on, right? I think a lot of that stuff wouldn't happen if it wasn't such a taboo, especially in the Armenian community, for girls to have sex before they get married. I don't get it at all. I mean if you're discreet and safe and take every precaution, etc, and don't go around the block with every other guy and be a wh0re about it, then why the heck not? Why do you have to lie about it and/or cover it up and be deceptive instead of being open and honest and telling whoever your future husband is that yeah you've had sex with someone and it meant something at the time but that was then and this is now and get on with your life?

I give all female examples because I know- through my guy friends, my ex, and my current bf, all Armenian- that it's not such an OH MY GOD! bad thing when you hear that a guy has had sex before. It's a fact of life, they were with girls for a certain amount of time, or heck even just met them in some cases, and they had sex. Big deal. I've never seen it as a 'bad' thing. In fact I'd probably prefer to be with someone who's had sex before, even if I'm waiting until I get married, or until I'm engaged at least. One of us has to know what to do, right? I also find it terribly sexy for someone to teach you new things.

I also know that just as I'd love to have sex with only someone I'm terribly in love with, other people don't find such things necessary and can have meaningful, great sex nonetheless, why the heck not??? I can't imagine that anyone in here can come up with any kind of valid reasoning.

Mousey, shouldn't you be the one enlightening us about the allure of a girl who is a virgin when it comes time to get married? From what I recall you were an advocate of that. Weren't you?
