Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Alright to be shy?

Sorry for making HyeJynx-ish threads but it's really important for me..

Hey, I've got a really big and annoying problem: I'm too xxxxing shy!

I can't start conversation with anyone I don't know without turning red or at least having my hearth beat at 120pulses/seconds. When I tell the teacher why I did not finish my homework, I turn red-tomato even if my explanation is 100% true.
When affirming something that is true, altough it depends to whom I talk, I can't resist grinning!!
Unless I've had 2 glasses of J&B, I can't get to talk openly to a frikin stranger girl.
Oh and I forgot...Even if someone tells me "Whats your name", I can't prevent my red-ish look

Is it alright being shy? It sure is more dificult to live with it but what can I do? Does it fade with time or I will have to live with it all my life?

No! It's NEVAR alright to be shy, NEVAR EVAR! Chicks don't like shy dudes. See I had a problem of shyness too. But I got rid of it because it doesn't do you good, whether with chicks or in the business world. You gotta assert.

Of course I still have the "getting red" part as I'm like my dad, a natural redneck Armenian with green eyes. When I get stressed, angry, emotional, or what not, I get red. If I were at a police lineup, it would be obvious who stole the tootsie rolls from the 7-11 to feed the starving Gnomes.

But beyond that, don't be shy. You gotta have an idea of what your character is, don't you? You're not shy when you're with your friends are you? The key is to transport that comfort and confidence to the other arena of strangers and chicks and stuff. Go up to any chick at a party and tell them why it will never work out between you two and how she has to do a certain thing or two to improve your chances ( like how she can't wear that skirt with that top and how she needs less make up ). Haha, they eat that shyt up. Or just talk to them about how all you care about are gnomes and why she has to try reeeeal hard to replace gnomes for you to like her.

Wow thanks Anony, it was the most helpful post you ever did for me at the most important time .

Anyway, with friends, not even close ones, I'm not embarassed of talking about anything. But as soon as they start asking me questions, ANY questions, and they tell me I'm getting red, well...I'm already red!

I think for professional life, I could handel it. I can stay firm but it's really about personal/everyday life. I really can't get to talk openly to anyone exept friends.

At first I tought it was ok, I thought that when growing up it'll slowly fade away but no, it even got more intense I must say It sux

I am not a shy person, so I wouldn't know how it feels to be one. I can, however, help you get over that VERY EASILY..it's just too bad you live in Belgium and are 6 years younger.

Just be more confident in your surroudings. Tell yourself that you're the best, and you know you're the best. Seriously, what's the worst that could happen? You're tall...act like it!!

No, it isn't all right to be shy, unless you're one of those chicks that only feigns shyness but is a real freak in bed. But you aren't a chick, so no, it isn't all right to be shy.

But I'm not the best ....pffff if I act what I am not, it'll feel really wierd and it would really make it too difficult for me to handle.

It's so stupid it doesn't fade away with time! I'll probably die alone like those Star Trek fans

For when medical treatment against shyness?
