Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

well,I was not trying to stereotype, I was just trying to keep things short coz I was tired of typing...

I dont know about the ratios so I cant base my argument on it but your leaders(I assume u elected them) are supporting the eu. They were also supporting eu in their election propoganda and turkey as a country is trying to enter eu so what you are saying doesnt justify anything coz turkey is in "eu dreams".When I mean leaders, I mean the party on power (AKP) I dont mean the army ... The same leaders also make politics blended with "religion". And these people at the same time support the "conservative" values. These justify why minority groups such as armenians and rums cant survive in your country coz it is simply "non-habitable"...You say the eu is racist...They might be conservative true but these people almost give equal rights as their own citizent to even the emigrants. When I walk on the streets I see different colours of people from different parts of the world. I visited Istanbul with my kenyan friend and she was given weird looks by the natives and we both felt really unconfortable...Am not saying all of you guys are like this, and am not stereotyping but majority of people in turkey are uneducated, religious and conservative. Isnt there a general belief that "the only friend of a turk is another turk" ? Isnt this a conservative approach? I saw on news like a week ago where the members of a publishing house were killed just coz they were making copies of the "holy bible". You say eu is conservative, observe your own country before critisizing others coz your counrty is no better...

You might proove with the "GDP per capita" as your country being "rich" ...But there is extremly uneven distribution of income among people...I have seen with my own eyes how some people live in luxury while majority suffer with pooverty. Therefore you cant claim "we are rich"...who are you fooling?

First of all regarding Turks are bad, people in Turkey looked to my Kenyan friend on the street, army rules in Turkey etc. thing I can not find any word to you. Making the same stereotypes like the Armenians here will not make you something more civilised, european or else. Or people here will not love you more.
About EU issue, Negotiations between Turkey-EU and "EU dreams" are two different things. AKP was supporting EU since 2006 until EU showed its true face that they accept new members according to religious and cultural criterias, not with economic or democratic ones. So now, people including AKP members do not support EU, at least noone cares EU. But some Turkish Cypriots like you dream about EU everyday. That was my point. It is simple enough and not related with "Turks are X" stereotypes.

Yes EU gives equal rights to its minorities, only after they exterminate 6 millions of xxx from the continent. Same as USA did to the natives. Maybe it is time for EU to permit xxxs to open tax free casinos.

sorry havnt seen this question earlier...turkish army is not the only problem between GC and TC but it is a big problem. To see another problem please have a look at google earth and see over cyprus... There is a boom in constuctions especially in Kyrenia. Some stupid TCs are building villas on GC owned land. On the south in greek territory the Larnaka airport is built on TC owned land...If there will be a solution we need to sort out the land issues. so thats a problem as well...for example my fathers family have land on the south but there are some greek families living in their houses now... My fathers family are currently living in a previously GC owned houses and if there need to be a solution everyone should move back to their original place...This is a big problem.

Also turkish army is not only a problem between GC and TC but also problem for TC. We are being more agitated day after day with the turkish propoganda from the army. They are also being rude to our leaders and its like a joke. One example to a ridiculus incident: One of our leader politian(Ferdi Soyer) was scolt by a army general just coz we didnt have "istiklal marşı/ turkish national anthem" in one of the commemorative ceramony for people lost in the war.!! Then the army general !refused to shake hands!(LOL!) with the politician and he said to him "proove me that you are a turk"... Too much propoganda for a cypriot to handle and this gets me everytime I read read it coz it just shows how ridiculously fanatic the turkish army is s

Again the same army general have a xxxxtail celebration party at his house and all the press is there but Ferdi is missing....I wonder whyy...lol... Coz our dear army general is mad! at Ferdi because of the previous occasion, and therefore he doesnt not to invite him over even though he is the representative of TCs...Instead he invited Denktaş (army lover old president) as resresentative and ofcourse this also like a joke...

Another example was in 23 april (children's day)... Our leaders decide to arrange an alternative celebration by arranging concerts with childen and peace songs...OH but the army doesnt like it coz "the original is not like this and we should all keep the original format". Therefore they decide to arrange their own celebration festival in "army base" for children!!! lol Some generals even call school ministers to force them to send children to the "army base" for "army style" celebration. Nobody sent their child to "army base" !dah! except for some settlerz from turkey and the army is angry at the TC and probably Ferdi will not be invited to the next xxxxtail

There are many examples I can give to you, just ask for more, these were the funny ones I remember of.Turkish army has its hands on everything back in turkey and they try to do the same thing in cyprus...The army is "familiar" to scolting their own politians they think they can do the same here in cyprus. This is an obvious propoganda procedure and its getting on most TCs nerves.

I am not "stereotyping". I am just giving the view of the general picture...The majory counts... Why is your head stuck to the eurpean, civilized thing I dont understand! I am talking the truth here, come to cyprus and compare it with your counrty and you will see...What I saw and what I experienced of turkey as an observant...I dont know anything about armenia.Maybe its same as turkey who knows!? Them loving me or not doesnt change anything coz our countries dont share any borders or trading routes etc.. You just sound funny with your "you want them to love you" argument...I just want you to realize that turkey is not "much popular" among neighbours. Stop acting like your country is perfect and turkey has no fault for its bad image.

Will tell you something to clear your mind about the "bad image" you have about me. I am not trying to proove myself to be more civilized than anybody by telling the bad things about turkey. There are many things that I dont like about turkey but also many things that I love. I enjoy my every visits there coz the people are wellcoming and warm but I dont like the "looks" some man give to woman. I have relatives in turkey as I said before who were married to turkish and they stay there. I enjoy being with their family and all. I like the way turkish people treat their elderly...etc...many more that I can count if you ask me...I dont have problem with individuals, but I would argue with anybody about turkey and I would critisize many facts not coz I want to look more european, western whatever etc. just coz I want to tell what I think is right to be done, better for your people...Its not like I have special animosity against turkey, but I dont like the way your government is handling their politics about cyprus and also I dont approve the actions of turkish army.

p.s: I thnk we need a seperate forum to discuss all this as some armenians might be annoyed by our small quarrel here

I agree, lets stop bothering Armenians anymore and discuss these somewhere else...Just one thing, images are not realities. One can watch too much Hollywood films and consider Vietnamese, Russians or Arabs as "bad" people and Americans as "good" guys, but it is not the reality. Anyway, finally, it is not wrong to date with a Turkish Cypriot for me

Well regarding the stereotypes, most of the world, from europeans, to arabs, south americans to africans, far-east people to eskimos hate americans. And they have good reasons for this. Personally I don't hate americans, but also I don't have a symphaty to them. (Probably you will understand what I feel, juet compare your feelings towards turks )

I don't "bash" any Armenian here to make you feel bad about Turks, actually no need, you already made up your mind everything about Turks.
