Well, I guess an Armenian girl would date you if you followed everything Lucin said... but one thing she forgot, that would be pretty important, is the acceptance of the Armenian Genocide (if you haven't already).

Well, based on my research it's pretty twisted. A definite watershed event in your modern culture.

I dont get it though, Turkey started it? An old Ottoman Empire Turkey, that was disbanded after WWI? Because now turkey is different and a big allie of the US. But Armenia is mad that the US and Turkey wont recognize it...probably because the US needs all the middle east allies it can get and it doesnt want to start a public relations poop storm. Personally, I would recognize it. But I dont think my opinion has much political pull

Something else to keep in mind (to get a handle on my opinion and whats going through my mind)...I am of German descent, and the Halocaust happened. We think it was pretty messed up, but re-iterating my past points of living for today, not many Americans period talk much of it and relations with Germany are fine today. Same with us and Russia, Japan, all the old people we destroyed in WWII.

Would a girl ask me specific questions about the genocide? Or does it depend on how assimilated, Americanized, she is?

There is a lot of truth to what you say. Multiculturalism can and will ruin a race and culture. However, the world has never seen a country like America, which has to be free to everyone who comes. (legally). The problem is forced multiculturalism, if you ask me. A lot of liberals forced it, instead of letting the people choose. Now you have a cluster-f**k.

That's the point.

I know this. This is the hand we are dealt right now. Make the best of it. If a white dude finds the features of an Armenian sexy, and vice versa, then why not? We can't live in a doom and gloom state of armageddon. It is true, that Armenians will get caught up in it and change. These exact same issues were prevailant in New York City over 100 years ago, with mainly europeans going at it. Now here we are today, more prosperous than ever.

Frankly, war unites America. Justified war. Iraq is arguably justifed but that's not something I want to get into. But like World War II, when we were bombed and brought into the war, we got pissed and fought back. All people will unite and fight for the cause if needed, and that will keep America ticking. But thats external, not internal like I said before.

What does one have to do with the other? One involves a disappearance of a people's identity, the other involves unison in the face of war (WWII was no more justified than WWI). In fact, history suggests otherwise to what you just stated. If anything, war creates mistrust and dissension among the mixed population. Both during World War I and World War II, Germans and Japanese were vilified, the latter to a greater degree since they are easier to identify due to racial characteristics and rounded up.

What I meant by you recognizing the Armenian Genocide, was that you accept that there was one and hope to help get it recognized, in small ways at least, like by sending messages to representatives... If you want, I could direct you to a huuuge post I made explaining the Armenian Genocide...

No, but eventually, it will show up... And I don't think an Armenian girl would find it appealing if her date thinks that the fact that Turks was trying to exterminate her race wasn't genocide and that it should be ignored...

I'm on Bonnevilleclub.com, too, as RareGMFan. Don't have a Bonneville yet, of course, but joined because: A. I like them, and B. To straighten out some horrible misinformation about the AWD 6000's (found a couple threads when I did a search for the hell of it). I MAY keep my 2-door TGP as a toy to build up. There's a guy in Canada who's expecting to run 11's with his new set-up (was in the low 13's with his old one with horrible 60' times, and without a chip tuned for his set-up). Plus the uniqueness of the car, being a McLaren and all. I think they can be as reliable as any car, IF they were well maintained. Problem is, most weren't. It's going to be the last car to go, so we'll have to see at that point where I'm at.

And I know all about modding an L67. But I just want a good, reliable car with decent power. I'm not going to buy a $25k car, and then start spending another few grand in modding it. Something about changing out parts on a car that new bugs me. On an older car, the parts are ready to go, anyway, so I don't mind. But if I ever do want to mess with it, I'm sure putting together a turbo set-up for a Northstar V8 won't be that difficult, and forced induction on a V8 > V6.

By the way....you mentioned being a bit confused on the Armenian Genocide issue. I did a write up, and posted it on the Bonnevilleclub in the Lounge section. It's fairly thorough on what led up to it, the event itself, and what the current state of affairs is. Look it up (probably fallen back to page 2 or 3 by now). Worth a read if you want a better understanding of it.
