You seem to just look for anything, no matter how trivial or irrelevant to the point, that you might (mis)construe as incorrect. Do you want to assert that at no point in history did the majority of people believe the Earth was flat? That statement, as is, is accurate. I do know a good bit of science history. I know that there were some who posited a round Earth in Ancient Greece. There were also extremely close estimates of the circumference and mass of the Earth pretty early on and without advanced instrumentation. None of that changes my point...

Sure it does, you have no basis in stating that most people believed the Earth was flat when they were taught and knew it was round. Like I said, the idea of people believing that the Earth was ever flat was a 20th century myth.

The number of people who believe something does not make it more or less true. Reality is not determined by popular belief or voting.

In Turkey, most people believe there was no genocide of Armenians. In Azerbaijan, the majority of people believe that their lands were never part of Armenia (or whatever cockamamie thing they believe). Clearly, you would not be convinced that their beliefs are accurate simply because the majority of their people subscribe to them right?

Most educated people in Turkey (those that have worldly education) know very well that there was a genocide. It's the state and the government teaching that teaches a different history so anyone that hasn't developed past a high school education probably won't advance their views any further.

This flat Earth crap was a 20th century hoax. You seem to be of the type that thinks there was no evidence of the Earth being round until man reached space and proved it. The fact is the ancient Greeks not only professed that the Earth was round but they calculated the diameter rather accurately.

If 70% of people believed in the tooth fairy, it wouldn't make it any more or less real. People in history were still wrong when the majority of them believed the Earth was flat or that the sun revolved around the sun.
