I'd be skeptical of what the turks have to say about the hemshen. Do some of them identify as turks? absolutly, do others identify as only hemshen? yep, and do some see themselves as some kind of Armenian? that's also affirmative.
The point I was trying to make is that there are quite a number of people in occupied Western Armenia who still remember their Armenian origins and would be easy to assimilate back into Armenianess.
Oh yes your statement is very true Armanen jan as a matter of fact there are a great deal of them; but thanks to controlling (to say the least) turkish regime they are mostly afraid and not only Hemshins origin; but other Armenians also from turkey are brought to the main cities by diasporan Armenian organizations as most of them would love to get out of there; and I dont blame them one bit.

Anoush and Armanen, you are persuading yourselves. If there was a significant hidden Armenian population preserving its true identity in Turkey, I would inevitably know some of them. And that's not the case.
I just try to depict the reality of Turkey, don't misunderstand me. I would be glad if we indeed such an Armenian population, unfortunately we don't.

I used to think there weren't any, either. But there are, and more than I expected.
Armenian is whoever has Armenian ethnic consciousness. There is no such thing as "Armenian blood" and whoever creates artificial racial barriers is working against our interests by dividing the nation. Armenia should be big and that can occur by reaching to as many people as possible.
And this means that we should work with Hamshens and create an Armenian minority inside Turkey so as to intervene in their internal affairs, instead of the suicidal and idiotic policies that people like Vigil suggest (that we should dump them).
Quite frankly, I think we should watch out because many self-portrayed "Armenian ultanationalists" might work for foreign services.
