You also may not:

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

    More skirmishing...

hopefully, the Azeris too some serious losses- they're trying to escalate this.

Armenia accused Azerbaijan of again heightening tensions in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on Saturday after two Armenian soldiers were killed in what it said were overnight Azerbaijani armed incursions near Karabakh.

2 Armenian Soldiers Killed Near Karabakh

Armenia accused Azerbaijan of again heightening tensions in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on Saturday after two Armenian soldiers were killed in what it said were overnight Azerbaijani armed incursions near Karabakh.

The Karabakh Armenian army said that Karen Grigorian and Vartan Mkrtchian were shot dead and another soldier, Volodya Harutiunian, wounded while repelling Azerbaijani commando raids at two sections of “the line of contact.” It said that “the enemy suffered losses and was pushed back to its starting positions.”

The Azerbaijani military was quick to deny attacking Armenian frontline positions. It said at the same time that its troops are “seriously preparing for the liberation of occupied territories.”

Armenia’s Defense Ministry, meanwhile, praised the “vigilant and coordinated” actions of Karabakh Armenian forces during the incident. “Detachments of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s Defense Army are in full control of the situation along the entire Line of Contact,” it said in a statement.

The statement strongly condemned Baku’s “irresponsible policy effectively renewed right from the beginning of 2015” and urged the international community and the U.S., Russian and French mediators in particular to do the same. “Any provocation by Azerbaijan’s leadership will be strictly punished and will lead to numerous casualties in the Azerbaijani armed forces in 2015 as well,” it warned.

The ministry appeared to allude to a sharp escalation in early August of tensions on the frontline around Karabakh and Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan, which raised more fears of a full-blown war. The upsurge in truce violations led Russian President Vladimir Putin to host an emergency summit of his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts.

Throughout 2014 the military authorities in Yerevan and Stepanakert reported growing instances of Azerbaijani incursions and other truce violations, which left 28 Armenian soldiers dead. The Armenian combat death toll stood at only 7 in 2013.

Citing reports by Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry and media, the Armenian defense news website Razm.info reported that at least 32 Azerbaijani soldiers died in action in 2014, sharply up from 11 combat deaths reported in 2013. Fourteen of them were killed in two firefights in early August. According to the Azerbaijani army, three other soldiers serving near the Karabakh frontline “accidentally” shot and killed themselves in the following days.

What do you guys think? How serious can this be? Azerbaijan's leadership likely is getting more desperate because of recent developmens.

There are members who are probably better suited to answer a military question, but here's my opinion
they don't currently have the potential to win a military war, and they probably never will. Just based on the weapons that we know both sides do have, though they clearly have more and better weapons, they don't have nearly enough to attack successfully. They have quite a bit of advantage with some of the weapons they've acquired recently from russia that are second to none like Smerch, t-90 S300pmu2, mig29 and mi35m. But none of this is nearly enough succesfully attack over a mountainous terrain. And of course there's the factor of us having a better organized and motivated army. I think with energy revenue going down, theyre not gonna increase the gap between our arsenal and theirs anymore

They definitely will not attack as long as their sovereign wealth fund (SOFAZ currently at ~$37 billion) has not run out. Until that fund exists, stability will exist and Aliyev probably will not have motivation for war. Plus this summer they have their fake Olympics which is a big pet project of Aliyev. No way will they risk endangering those with war after spending so much ridiculous time and money trying to host them.

The Sultan has been digging himself into a hole from where he can only get out through a war or a coffin.
            Time will tell.

“The occupying state should know that a strong Azerbaijani army may restore the territorial integrity of our country at any time. We still hope that the negotiating process can produce a positive result, and there are many factors enhancing this hope. We have political power, economic potential and a powerful army. Next year, about $5 billion will be spent on the development of our army, twice the total budget of the impoverished Armenia.”

“The Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh can be resolved only on the basis of norms and principles of international law. UN Security Council resolutions must be implemented. The occupying forces must withdraw from the occupied Azerbaijani lands and the territorial integrity of our country must be restored. These are the basic principles. On the basis of these principles we are ready to sign any agreement,” the head of state added.

In the mean time we must understand that we cannot have a strong state only by having a strong army.
We should have learned by now why the USSR collapsed, not because of the lack of weapons.

In parallel we must have a strong economy reflected in the well-being of its population.

The well being of the population includes the need for a just society. etc etc

That is how we will be strong as well as appear strong, so bums like the sultan will not have wet dreams about collapsing state of Armenia.

Then the sultan can staff all his money and weapons up his own ar.se.
            .
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Interesting you brought up SOFAZ. Do actually believe the if the amount of money they claim is there, actually is? Because I think that any number coming from Azerbaijan is probably not true.
