1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Thanks Karabed. According to that report, Azerbaijan has these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-63_Plamen which I had never heard of. I just finished reading the entire link by Karabed and I really recommend it. It's very indepth and has a projection of the battle strategy Armenia and Azerbaijan will probably take, including an attack on Gandzak (Ganja) and the Mingchevir reservoir that would cut off electricity to half the country.

IT in the service of the Army of Artsakh
Center for the development of information technologies in conjunction with the NKR Ministries of Defence and Culture and Youth Affairs of the Republic, a project to organize videovstrech NKR Defense Army with family and friends. During the year the virtual meeting will be organized in almost all military units of Artsakh. The project involved a mobile equipped with all necessary computer center with wireless Internet access.

The first video link was held on December 31 in N-military unit: over 3 hours of about 70 soldiers communicated with their families and friends. The next event was organized on January 25, when soldiers and their relatives have the opportunity to live a few hours to communicate through a system of Skype. It is impossible to convey the joyous atmosphere that prevailed during videovstrech no accident that only the wish expressed by almost all levels - from commanders to their relatives - were often asked to organize such events. The more so because in addition to Internet communication in those days for the defenders of the homeland, organized by the concert, national games and competitions.

According to unit commanders, the organization videovstrechi very important in terms of maintaining high morale of the army. The soldiers, of course, regularly communicate by telephone with his family. However, just talking on the phone - one thing and see if this one another - quite another matter. Convinced firsthand what their children are healthy and in good spirits, parents will be quieter for them. In turn, soldiers, chat and see family and friends, in their own words, get lots of positive emotions, which ultimately improves their morale.

I would like to mention another important factor of the project. Recently, a number of controlled newspapers, the first president of Armenia organized a very real information war against our army, as if trying to discredit everything associated with military service and undermine the military, and moral and psychological spirit of soldiers. The project on the organization of the video bridge - a convincing answer to those who try to discredit the Armenian army-winner.

This is something I wasn't sure about but it fortifies my position on it despite what the Turks popular belief is. Turkey is against a renewed war by Azerbaijan and will not give the green light or send troops to fight side by side the Azeris.

            From the article:
Azerbaijani analysts are confident Ankara would be compelled to take military action if Azerbaijani
statehood were threatened.143 Turkish officials are more
cautious, stating that they are doing all they can to persuade
Baku war would be a nightmare scenario. They
add that Turkey cannot resist the public pressure if there
is an attack. We would be forced to send weapons. But
we are not talking about sending troops, fighting side by
side. We cant do that without NATO
            144

On 16 August 2010, days before the upgraded Russian-
Armenian military deal was announced, Turkey and Azerbaijan
signed a strategic partnership and mutual assistance
agreement, stipulating they will support each other using
all possibilities in the case of a military attack or aggression
against the other.145 Turkish diplomats suggested
there are no firm commitments, and Azerbaijanis agree it
does not amount to a mutual defence pact.146 The Azerbaijani
parliament ratified it in December 2010, but it has
not yet been put to the Turkish parliament.
            147
Russians will also be against Armenia making any type of defensive attack.....a renewed war would ruin the increasing close relationship between Turkey and Russia.

Absolutely. In fact I have made this point in the past in one of the threads.

Also, add in the factor that the American taxpayer has also helped israel by bribing Arab governments in the region, such as Egypt and Jordan, to keep the peace. Do you see the US giving any money to the Armenian military, or bribing aliyev to keep the peace?

My point was/is IF money or demography or time element put us at a disadvantage we have well past those critical points.
Therefore there are other issues with the enemy. Reasoning, they seem so “keen to fight”, why haven't they thus far.

My other point was/is we should push ahead irrespective to strengthen our country by taking the right decisions
whether to do with the economy, demography and certainly with the military towards which I have great trust.

I certainly did not have in mind entering a capabilities race with Israel.

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.

And why not? Israel have only existed 63 years. We have a long military history and more experience in military matters than them and we train russian style, one of the best training there is, there's nothing stopping us really. only ourselves. And if you mean money, the money is there, it's just in oligarchs hands.

Finance pure and simple. Age (years) has nothing to do with it.

These certaily provide the motivation but in themselves cannot produce anything without action.

Oligarchs are part of the problem with regards to the economic development of the country.
In other words they are part of the problem and not the solution.
