The choice of Azerbaijan: to beg for a drop of water or a sink in Kure

5-го ноября 2013 года, состоялось совместное заседание действующего при администрации президента Азербайджана Центра стратегических исследований и Института географии АНА, где ...

        Google transilation

On November 5, 2013, a joint meeting acting at the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Centre for Strategic Studies and the Institute of Geography of the ANA, to discuss issues of "confrontation" gidroterroru "and" gidrodiversy "from the Armenian side." Amusing performances were set. Scholars and political analysts have described vividly what can happen to Azerbaijan if the Armenian side will use it against all of its water resources. Some have stated that Armenia and Artsakh can dehydrate to 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory, while others claimed that, if desired, for one hour may flood the territory inhabited by over 500 thousand Azerbaijanis. I honestly do not remember what conclusions reached in this day Azerbaijani scientists, but I'm sure it was this conference marked the beginning of treatment in the various international bodies on the issue of "Armenian gidroterrora." As a result of the commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Health and Social Protection has decided to prepare a report on Sarsang reservoir. Take the matter was entrusted to the deputy from Bosnia Melissa Markovic - bright product renowned caviar policy of Azerbaijan.

Two years have passed. During this period, a lot has changed in the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. The situation in the border resembles a conventional war. And if at that time the OSCE Minsk Group could still hope that the Artsakh conflict can be resolved peacefully, but now no one harbors no such illusions.

The situation changed in the aquatic environment. Over the past two years and the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides have made significant progress. As planned, the official Baku managed to raise the issue at the international level. But Armenian states in opposition to Azerbaijan was able to create a real "water bomb". It is this which was presented in the reports of the Azerbaijani propagandists intimidated.

In fact, everything is simple. The Armenian side, given the intention of Azerbaijan, held in recent years, more work on the rehabilitation and construction of water reservoirs in the border area of their operation. Change the course of some rivers, and similar work is going on. The goal is simple - to use natural resources more efficiently, simultaneously creating agricultural problems opponent. Proper distribution of water resources has become one of the main objectives of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. It's nice to compensate for a consistent policy of official Baku to maintain the blockade of Armenia. It is now clear that not only Azerbaijan has the opportunity to put economic pressure.

But, under construction on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have a reservoir in the military-strategic terms, and other values. These water reserves may not only be an obstacle to the advance of the enemy, but also to wash away half a million residents of Azerbaijan directly in Kourou. And this, according to the calculations themselves Azerbaijanis, in just one hour. In this sense, a special role Sarsang reservoir, which prepared a report on the European Commission. I wonder if indicated in the report Melissa Markovic Sarsang strike force? I think this part of the report will especially enjoy the Azerbaijanis. It is necessary to satisfy their curiosity. No wonder that the Aliyev administration studiously provided Markovic caviar.

But for all the Azerbaijanis would not be so bad. Artsakh authorities have repeatedly offered Baku to share water resources Sarsang. And this is not only a humanitarian proposal, voiced official Stepanakert. However, the willingness of the Armenian side to cooperate with Aliyev's administration is generally considered a sign of weakness rather than an attempt to translate the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict to a new political level.

It so happened in the issue of water allocation. Themselves, creating a problem, looking for someone to pity them. And it can achieve its if will continue so. But then come to regret Markovic Azerbaijanis pleading dry lips of a drop of water. Or their corpses floating in Kure. The choice of the new Baku.

U.S. withdraws air defense missiles from Turkey
The United States has withdrawn its Patriot air defense missiles from Turkey’s Kurdish southeast, security sources said, according to Anadolu Agency.

The missiles were placed at Turkey’s Mediterranean port of Iskenderun, particularly on the Ocean Globe heavy lift vessel, which later left for the United States.

Patriots and personnel were deployed in Gaziantep after Turkey appealed to its NATO allies to guard against any missile threat from war-torn Syria.

The deployment expired this month, with no renewal planned.

The Syrian Civil War began in the early spring of 2011 in the context of Arab Spring protests, with nationwide protests against President Bashar al-Assad's government.

More than 250,000 Syrians have lost their lives in four-and-a-half years of armed conflict, which began with anti-government protests before escalating into a full-scale civil war. More than 11 million others have been forced from their homes as forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and those opposed to his rule battle each other - as well as jihadist militants from Islamic State.
