Unforgivable.

He should be called in by the top man of his division and be given a dressing down.

Also cautionary instruction be send to the rest of the sub-divisional leaders about discipline when the soldiers handling munitions.

Russian Defense Chief Urges Closer Ties With Azerbaijan

Risking fresh criticism from Armenia, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu on Wednesday praised Russia’s “strategic” military ties with Azerbaijan and signaled Moscow’s readiness to sell more weapons to Baku.

“Our military cooperation has a strategic character, as do all other types of cooperation between our countries,” Shoygu told his Azerbaijani counterpart Zakir Hasanov during talks in Moscow.

“I think that there is a potential for its further growth and development. We will certainly do everything to ensure that our friendly strategic partnership and ties continue to develop,” he said in remarks cited by the Russian Defense Ministry.....

This guy is supposed to be at least a Lt.colonel (or thereabouts ) from the stars he is wearing ???

He has a lighted cigarette hanging from his mouth handling, supervising munition.

For god sake, if I can see that people who matter see that also and form an opinion.

Are we loosing our discipline? This looks like a third world army behaviour.

In general our army should adopt a non smocking policy. Limit smoking in any military installation, vehicle, near armaments.
It should create smoking areas where it is permitted.
This picture shows a soviet stile behavior, smoking whenever and wherever.

In general our army should adopt a non smocking policy. Limit smoking in any military installation, vehicle, near armaments.
It should create smoking areas where it is permitted.
This picture shows a soviet stile behavior, smoking whenever and wherever.

I have some experience in the British army, I emphasise little.

The policy there is whether you are handling munition or cattle dung, no smoking on duty, period.

No ifs ... no buts.

I remember during the Falklands war when military personnel were sent by ship to their destination,
they were exercising during the whole journey,
the logic being if they got injured their chances of survival would be higher
as well as if survived their healing process quicker.

I might also add this was done on a volunteer basis with no structured program.

Its common sense, you just need the discipline, rather self-discipline.

«Ես տեսել եմ այդ հայտարարությունները: Կարող եմ ասել, որ դա ադրբեջանական կողմի փորձն է յուրովի մեկնաբանել ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունները», - Մոսկվայում լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցի ընթացքում ասել է ՌԴ Արտաքին գործերի նախարարության մամլո խոսնակ Մարիա Զախարովան՝ արձագանքելով Ադրբեջանի նախագահի աշխատակազմի ղեկավարի տեղակալ Նովրուզ Մամեդովի հունիսի 22-ի հայտարարությանը, թե, իբր, պայմանավորվածություն է ձեռք բերվել ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդիրը լուծել փուլային տարբերակով:

Մարիա Զախարովան, մեջբերելով Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում ընդունված եռակողմ հայտարարության տեքստը, ասել է, որ այն հասանելի է և բոլոր ցանկացողները կարող են այն կարդալ:

«Ես կխնդրեի առաջնորդվել հայտարարության հենց օրգինալով, այլ ոչ թե այս տեքստի վերաբերյալ բավականին անբարեխիղճ մեկնաբանություններով», - ասել է Մ.Զախարովան:

«Կա կոնկրետ հայտարարություն, այն հնչեցվել է և հանդիսանում է պաշտոնական փաստաթուղթ և դրա վրա է պետք հիմնվել, այլ ոչ թե որևէ մեկի կողմից դրա ազատ ընթերցման կամ անբարեխիղճ մեկնաբանության վրա», - եզրափակել է Մ.Զախարովան՝ ընդգծելով, որ հանդիպման այս ձևաչափով որևէ կերպ փորձ չի արվել ստվեր նետել ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի շրջանակներում համանախագահների համատեղ ջանքերի վրա:

Russia Denies Azeri Karabakh Claim

Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday rejected as “unscrupulous” a senior Azerbaijani official’s claim that this week’s Armenian-Azerbaijani summit in Saint Petersburg resulted in an agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh favorable to Baku.

Novruz Mammadov, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s chief foreign policy aide, said on Wednesday that Aliyev and his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sarkisian agreed “in principle” on a phased solution to the Karabakh conflict.

Mammadov told Azerbaijani television that the peaceful settlement will involve a gradual liberation of seven districts around Karabakh that were fully or partly occupied by Karabakh Armenian forces in 1992-1994. “Karabakh’s status will be determined after that,” he added vaguely.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian was quick to brush aside Mammadov’s remarks. He said that “no agreement on the conflict’s resolution was reached at the Saint Petersburg summit” hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, denied the Azerbaijani claims in equally categorical terms. “This is an attempt by the Azerbaijani side to interpret the understandings reached [in Saint Petersburg] in a peculiar fashion,” she told reporters in Moscow.

Zakharova pointed to a trilateral statement that was issued by Putin, Aliyev and Sarkisian after their talks. It said the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders reached an “understanding” on unspecified issues hampering a Karabakh settlement. They also reaffirmed their declared support for confidence-building measures meant to strengthen the ceasefire regime in the conflict zone, according to the statement.

“I would ask you -- and I think this is a collective request -- to be guided by that statement, rather than those very unscrupulous claims involving attempts to interpret the results of the meeting,” Zakharova told reporters in Moscow.

“There is a concrete statement that was made [in Saint Petersburg] and it is an official document,” she said. “One should proceed from it, rather than frivolous or perverse interpretations made by anybody.”
