1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

Saco jan, I won't be going this year; but with God's will probably by next year. And pray for me to make good money to help out as much as possible our people in our Republic.

      Re: Vote now: Armenia-diaspora-turkey relations

Saco jan, guys and gals…..how about starting an online petition directed at the Armenian Government for starters? Damn.
Not a bad idea. Let's see if we the Armenian people can work together. Let's see who walks the talk in the end.

I understand what you are saying. They are caught up in their everyday non-selfless lifestyle and they careless about their beloved Republic. Which should be adorned and highly regarded; and some don't. Sometimes though, a few super patriotic Armenians can change that by websites, patriotic songs, the media, literature, writing articles, poetry and essays. I know it is hard when there is not many jobs available and the people are not content and some are even hungry; but that is why corruption should end in our small landlocked country and the rich must help the people by opening up businesses, institutions and helping people to have jobs.
The reason we're poor now is because the rich people have stolen all our money. I don't think your appreciating the gravity of the situation. If anyone wants to know what's going on, ask me. I don't think anyone else can give you a better explanation. Anoush jan, when I say I work with the people, I mean I work with all kinds of people starting from the very poor to the very rich. That's why I can talk right now with every bit of confidence. I don't live in the Diaspora and act as if I love my country. I live right here in Yerevan and I feel the pain my country feels EVERY SINGLE DAY and it's not easy. I see the tears, the anger, the happiness, and everything else. Not just the temporary kefs.

Why do people when they get rich get corrupted? Instead help the underprivileged ones, help your small country.
Mer esh khelkitsa, Anoush. Skhal mi haskatsir indz bayts havata, mezanitsa. Kirk Kirkoryanu gites INCHKANA mez ognel. Es mer hayeru voronts hamar kyankenk patrast talu keran ira poghern el, kyanku nel . Du gunahatir ays pahu SHAT LAV tsavut tanem. Laaavvvv gunahati. Kugas Hayastan u nor khaskanas luriv te yes inchem asum.

Why doesn't God make the real patriots very rich so that we can move things and make good things happen?
Because we only become patriots through difficulties. When your rich, your money blinds you and doesn't allow you to move on. Only by going through hardships can we truly appreciate life, love, our country, so on and so forth. Harships are not bad. They are lessons that help us move on. They polish us and make us who we are. The rich learn these lessons in very hard ways. We have it better then they do, trust me.

Saco jan, when I go to Armenia I will not go there to have a jolly good time; but to see how I can help out the people. I want to go there with money; because I will want to move things and help out the underprivilaged and the poor in there so they'll thrive.
Well then you just got yourself an Armenian guide ! But still, be prepared to feel down because it's one thing saying what you said in a forum and saying (and taking in) what you said here in Yerevan when you stand in the city square near the fountains. Don't ever underestimate anything in life, Anoush. My humble advice to you. I've been through that xxxx more then you can count so you can trust me.

Saco jan, I won't be going this year; but with God's will probably by next year. And pray for me to make good money to help out as much as possible our people in our Republic.
You all are always in my prayers ... you can doubt anything but that. I'm afraid though that money isn't the most effective way you can help our people. It is something very temporary. Trust me. Especially here in Yerevan. Think of it as giving a poor person a one dollar bill. It doesn't change much. It only lasts for a day or two. Come to Yerevan and you will IMMEDIATELY understand what needs to be done. I'm your mirror in some respects Anoush jan. I've been through everything most of you have been through and after living here have I understood what has to be TRULY done right now. There is nothing bad in your idea. It's great ... just not effective. When I read your posts, I feel really down not because you offer up bad ideas but because they are, on the contrary, great ideas. You really seem to want to help our people. I just hope they don't make you regret all that you felt. It's the worst feeling in the world and I have felt it at times. It's after that that I have understood who I am, who I fight for, and what a state my country is in. A fanatic will never be able to live here. He/She will fly out of here the second he/she sets foot into Zvartnots. Don't be prepared to be welcomed here by your people with open arms. It's nothing like that. There are many people that will but you have to know them. Most think about how much money you have first when they find out you've come from abroad so be careful. They don't think of your good will. That's why I want to be your guide, lol. Our country is in a difficult state, Anoush jan. Don't be prepared to see the holy land.

Mi hat hanak ka (tsitagheli bayts CHISHT) vor uzumem asem kez hima. Huysovem khaskanas. Mi hat otar hay arachin ankam galisa hayastan, kangnum hraparakum, yev ir diplamatu (poghov lutsvats) dnum getnin. Dzerneru bartsratsnuma yev sksuma asel "Mernem ko hoghin im kaghtsr Hayastan. Mernem ko jurin im anush Hayastan". Mikich lav uzgaluts heto, dzerneru ichatsnuma u tenuma vor ir diplamatu goghatselen u asuma "vay yes ko inchnem asel Hayastan". Hope you understood me Anoush jan. Don't be a fanatic or a nationalist. Don't be naive. Simply be prepared and don't forget who/what it is you truly love. Don't be perpared to hug all Armenians because many, many here couldn't care less if you lived or not, lol. Don't let that bring you down though. A doctor shouldn't get upset from his/her patient .

All the best Anoush jan and it's good to be talking to you on a normal basis . I never forget anything so I see we trust each other now more then we did when I first talked to you. (I'll never forget how you called me a mongol )

      Cheers

All governments lie and maybe the Armenian government more than some, I don't know.

No, I don't live in Armenia.
Well then I don't think you should talk too confidently my friend. I'm not trying to insult you by saying this.

Dear xxxxxxx, let me ask you who you are to make such a statement towards an organization who represented the interests of our nation even when there wasnt any Armenian government? The Armenian current government has shown that is completely antinational and cares just about the current conjuncture. In your place I wouldn’t even mention it as an Armenian government. So shut up and kip quit.

Why we need that borders open? Can anyone explain me? We have survived with that borders closed and will survive for more 100 years if we have to. Is it worth to kiss ass of the turks in 22 of April just to get A HOPE (not even a guaranty)that they will do what they are obliged to do by all international laws and standards? Why we need diplomatic relation with a country which publicly humiliates us in every occasion and publicly offends our holiest feelings in regular bases. If it is what politics all about SO xxxx THE POLITICS AND POLITICIANS !

No one wants these borders open except the US, Mukuch.

Mukuch jan; I have the same feelings. I don't see anything, I mean anything good happening both to our Republic and to Artsakh by opening the borders. I don't trust the turks one bit. They are very cunning and very belligerent and volatile. I remember a while ago my father told me what happened in turkey. There was an Armenian man that turkey didn't care about; when one day he was travelling by a European ship, so the ship had to make a stop at Bosphorous for a day. The turks somehow went into the European ship illegally and dragged this Armenian patriot out into turkey and killed him. Dog gonnet they just did it to Hrant Dink. Who can trust these people and this government? I tell you; if and when the Armenian government signs that illegal document giving the OK for Kars Treaty and selling out our vital rights of the Legal Document of Sevres Treaty and leaving Armenia's military out of Nakhichevan, you can forget about both Armenia and Nakhichevan or owning any land at all under this sun [ays arevou dag]. We finally got a small piece of land and our brothers gave away their sweet lives for our Artsakh's land and our today's jerkish government is simply giving it away. I tell you this
Serje is selling us out. When he signs that turkish kissing ass resolution he will indeed be another Vahan Mamigonian - a traitor.

The people of Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora should put a stop to him signing that paper and opening up the border. Those vermin turks and the vermin azeris will bit by bit come and buy us out of our lands and their dreams of pan turkism will come true. Unless we all fight together for this NOT to happen. As I said before; the only nationalistic party for the Armenians is Tashnagtsoutyoun. I don't trust nobody else!!!!!!!

Saco jan I really don't recall calling you a Mongol... jees if I did I apologize.

Btw; I have been in Armenia a long time ago, before it was free. I never went back yet, but I know the Armenian people from here too Saco jan. They kiss odars' behinds and mostly treat you not very kindly or get jealous of you for this or that reason, and some drive you crazy. I understand your comical story but it has a lot of truth to it. However, whether some act that way or not, I still love my country and my people. I can't help myself, that's my fabric, my mentality and I can't part from it. I learned in life though that even when some don't treat you nice; you have to be forgiving and maturely move on. Especially for the good of the general and your beloved cause, you must work with people even with the ones you don't care much. We all make mistakes in life, but hopefully we learn at least from most of them and move on. Look I didn't know better before and from your previous talks I thought you're not even Armenian and I must've thought that you're a turk. Isn't that funny now that I know better and I have exchanged a great deal of nationalistic ideas with you? It's good that I didn't remember and I moved on; but even if I remembered I would've given you other chances and "voila" the better things happened in life now!

Don't worry though, I know the Armenian people quite well. One thing though I felt proud when I went to Armenia because they are very hospitable bunch of people, that way they are great and loving. People in there Saco jan, have no significant jobs and the poor unfortunately are very poor, yet the rich are corrupted and selfishly careless about any patriotic feelings or belief. So yes I know what to expect; one has to be careful too that you don't get mugged; despite the fact you want to help them. When I went it was at the end of the Soviet era and things were very different. When I go there I would probably bring with me my 14 year old because I want her to see and feel for herself what Armenia is all about. She heard about it but doesn't know it yet. We'll probably go there as a family, we'll see.

Not to worry. It's natural. As we start conversing more in the forums, we start to understand who is who much better and naturally, we become more serious. Back then, you were moving around with Hellektor and since the guy had a grudge against me, you somehow started having a grudge against me as well. He is your friend after all (no offence) so that's natural. If someone said something to Eddo, Pedro, or any of my other friends, I'd crack their skulls. We had a small misunderstanding Anoush jan, not to worry. Back then, everything was at boiling point.

Btw; I have been in Armenia a long time ago, before it was free. I never went back yet, but I know the Armenian people from here too Saco jan. You got that right. That joke is golden where I live, lol. One of the most meaningful jokes I have EVER heard. That's the beauty of Armenian folktales, stories, jokes, etc. They all have a deep meaning. I could watch Armenian movies a million times over with the same enthusiasm. Hell, I already have, lol. Mi katil meghr is the GOD of meaningful jokes, by the way. It COMPLETELY describes the human mind and where all fights begin.

However, whether some act that way or not, I still love my country and my people. I can't help myself, that's my fabric, my mentality and I can't part from it. I learned in life though that even when some don't treat you nice; you have to be forgiving and maturely move on.
Du haskatsar indz but it's one thing saying that in the Diaspora and it's another thing saying that right at home. I'm sorry if I somehow give you the impression that Yerevan is filled with hell spawns, lol. It's nothing like that but the situation is serious as hell. I simply want you to be prepared. I've seen many come and leave without wanting to look back (not that I blame them) and I don't want to see all your enthusiasm fall to the ground Anoush jan. It's very easy, trust me.

Especially for the good of the general and your beloved cause, you must work with people even with the ones you don't care much. We all make mistakes in life, but hopefully we learn at least from most of them and move on.
                      Exactly

Haha, thank you Anoush jan. Appreciate it. Like I've said on many different occasions, no one knows what life has in store for us. The other day, I met someone right here in Yerevan that I never thought I'd meet ... an Armenian from India. Before, he was just a punk moving around like a ghost and I never really payed attention to him. When I met him here though, he was a completely different person and acted right. He realized what he did and moved on. That's what's important. I never reminded him what an ass he was in the past because frankly speaking ... it didn't matter anymore. I understand what your saying, Anoush jan. I've been through all this thousands of times.

Don't worry though, I know the Armenian people quite well. One thing though I felt proud when I went to Armenia because they are very hospitable bunch of people, that way they are great and loving. Actually, I thought you never came to Armenia before (which would be a problem for most) so that's why I was worried. If you've come before then you already know more or less what to expect but still, trust me, EVERYTHING has changed since the Soviet era. Everything. You won't recognize your motherland. There are many good people but you have to still be careful ... especially nowadays. A lot is going on and many are starting to become impatient and not just because they don't have money. I'm afraid everything is going downhill .. not uphill .

Let's see what God has in store for us.
