I just loved it how he attempted to indirectly respond to me by saying, "I've got better things to do than dissect it all," as if he's really preoccupied with real life stuff.

I actually expect any adult with a functioning brain and an awareness of how to read media sources to be able to read that article and recognise its propaganda content and be disgusted by it. But you, as a cretin and a racist bigot, would not be able to do that. It isn't my job to try to educate cretins (if such a thing is possible) - so that is why I did not dissect the article. Stick to reading New York Post articles, or watching Fox News or listening to bawling babies - that's obviously your level of reading skills and the limits of your aspirations if you approve of the type of low-grade "journalism" exhibited in that arminfo article.

Bell you are admonishing others for not reading deeper into things yet look at what you are writing yourself. Like how do you think Armenia got that advanced industrial, technological, educational base in the first place? I do not think it was gotton under the leadership of the USA as a matter of fact i am sure it happened under the soviet union led by the ruskies so many here seem to despise. You are contradicting the very point you are trying to make and that is pretty lame considering some of the stuff you have written before were actually thought provoking to some level. Now you are no more then many of the other rusophobes on this forum rambling aimlessly into oblivion.

It appears that you cannot dispute the fact that Armenia's formerly advanced industrial and technological and educational base has, since independence, decayed down to the level of raw materials extraction, and you cannot dispute that this collapse has dangerously undermined Armenia's security, and that having not a single American company making serious investments in Armenia will not help matters - so instead you throw (what you) consider to be an insult: "Rusophobe".

You make it sound that progress is impossible wo USA involvement but that is not true at all and you have the progress during the soviet years to prove it. America deciding to invest or not to invest in Armenia is not entirely up to Armenia you know it takes two to tango.. America as a matter of fact seems to have a reactionary attitude towards Armenia by declaring perfectly fine products as defective and unfit for import every time Armenia makes a move that is not in line with USA dictate. As you can see your argument is very far from "unassailable"

Yeh sure after reducing it for years i think it did increase aid a bit but it alsohas banned the import of Jermuk and Lori products. Each ofthose bans coinsides with Armenia doing something with the Russians or not doing something with the west..Its like a xxxlery store having a 50% off sale when previously raising prices by 200%.

Այն, որ Մաքսային միությանը միանալու մասին նախագահ Սարգսյանի հայտարարությունից հետո Հայաստանում պետք է վերարթնանային «ռըսի ոտի օրհնված էն սհաթի» մոտիվներով նոստալգիկ տրամադրությունները, գրեթե կասկած չէր հարցուցում: Եվ այնուամենայնիվ, թվում էր, թե անկախության անցած 22 տարիները այդ տրամադրությունները գոնե տեղավորած կլինեին ազգային պետական շահի և առհասարակ, պետական մտածողության շրջանակներում:

Պարզվում է, սակայն, որ այս առումով անցած տարիները պարզապես վատնվել են անիմաստ: Դա ապացուցեց հանրությանը քաջածանոթ գրող, հրապարակախոս Զորի Բալայանը, ով բաց նամակ է հղել ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինին` վերջինիս գրեթե աղաչելով Ղարաբաղը ներառել Ռուսաստանի կազմի մեջ: Բալայանն իր այս «առաջարկը» հիմնավորում է 1813թ. Ռուսաստանի և Պարսկաստանի միջև կնքված Գյուլիստանի և 1828թ.` Թուրքմենչայի պայմանագրերով: Հիշեցնենք, որ այդ պայմանագրերով Պարսկաստանը համապատասխանաբար Ռուսաստանին հանձնեց նախ ներկայիս Հայաստանի հարավային, արևելյան և հյուսիսային շրջանները, Ղարաբաղը, հետո նաև` Երևանը և Նախիջևանը:

Եվ ահա ելնելով այդ պայմանագրերից` Բալայանը եզրակացնում է, որ ներկայիս Ռուսաստանը պարտավոր է տեր կանգնել այդ պայմանագրով իրեն որպես սեփականություն հանձնված Արցախին: «Գործնականում ողջ Հարավային Կովկասը պաշտոնապես գտնվում էր Ռուսաստանի կազմում: Այնպես որ, ճիշտ էր Ա. Սոբչակը. իրոք, չկա Ղարաբաղի խնդիր, կա Ռուսաստանի խնդիր»,- մեծ աղմուկ հանած իր բաց նամակում ասում է Բալայանը:

Սույն գրողը, ով իրեն իրավունք է վերապահում ազգային ու պետական արժանապատվությունը վիրավորող նման առաջարկով հանդես գալ մի ողջ ժողովրդի անունից, ակնհայտորեն մնացել է լավագույն դեպքում 1988 թվականում, երբ խիստ արդիական ու նույնիսկ խրախուսելի էր համարվում Կենտկոմի առաջին քարտուղարին նման նամակներ գրելը: Սակայն խնդիրը զուտ «ռուսաց թագավորին դիմելու» այս սինդրոմով տառապելու մեջ չէ:

Ակնհայտ է, որ Բալայանին ոգեշնչել է հատկապես հենց Մաքսային միությանը միանալու Հայաստանի իշխանության քայլը: Հակառակ դեպքում նրան ոչինչ չէր խանգարում Պուտինին ղարաբաղյան թեմատիկայով անհանգստացնել մինչև այդ: Թերևս հասկանալով, որ այդ միությանը միանալու պարագայում պարզապես օդից կախված է մնալու Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ճանաչման ու Հայաստանի հետ նրա հարաբերությունների հարցը` Բալայանը Պուտինին հուշում է, որ Հայաստանին իր գիրկը վերադարձնելուց հետո պետք է նույն անել նաև Ղարաբաղի պարագայում:

Ու այդ միտքն ավելի համոզիչ դարձնելու համար նա հղում է կատարում թուրք-ադրբեջանական տանդեմի պանթուրքիստական պլաններին ու դրանցից Ռուսաստանին սպառնացող վտանգներին: Սակայն ողջ հարցն այն է, որ ղարաբաղյան հարցը համարելով Ռուսաստանի հարց, Բալայանն ընդհանրապես մոռանում է թե Հայաստանի, թե առավելևս Ղարաբաղի հարցի կամ ավելի ճիշտ` շահերի մասին:

Այնպիսի տպավորություն է, որ նամակի հեղինակը ոչ թե ինքնիշխան պետության ներկայացուցիչ է, այլ ինքնահաստատման խնդիր ունեցող Կովկասյան ինչ-որ ցեղախմբի: Աբսուրդն այն է, սակայն, որ Բալայանը դա անում է` ինչ-որ իմաստով կիրառելով պատմական մանիպուլյացիաների մեթոդաբանությունը: Երբ նա ԼՂ-ն հռչակում է Ռուսաստանի սեփականություն, օգտագործելով Գյուլիստանի պայմանագիրը, միտումնավոր անտեսում է այն հանգամանքը, որ այդ նույն տրամաբանությամբ Ռուսաստանի սեփականությունը պետք է համարվի նաև ողջ Հայաստանը: Այլ կերպ ասած` կամա թե ակամա, Բալայանն առնվազն կասկածի տակ է առնում Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանությունը, և այս տեսակետից նրա արածն այլ կերպ, քան` «դավաճանություն ազգային պետականության հանդեպ», չի կարելի որակել:

Եթե օրինակ Պուտինը հետևի Բալայանի` մոտ 15 էջ կազմող «դասախոսության» տրամաբանությանը, ապա կարող է շատ հանգիստ Հայաստանը հռչակել իր հարավային «գուբերնիաներից» մեկը: Դժվար է ասել` արդյո՞ք Բալայանը այս վտանգավոր խայծը նետում է միտումնավոր, թե սա պարզապես Ղարաբաղը ռուսական սապոգի օգնությամբ «թուրքական յաթաղանից» փրկելուն ուղղված միամիտ նախաձեռնություն է: Իրականում սա լուրջ հարց է:

Բալայանը պատահական մարդ չէ: Նա իշխանական նոմենկլատուրայի գաղափարակիրն է, ում շատ լավ են ճանաչում նաև Ռուսաստանում: Նրա խոսքը կարող է հնչել որպես պաշտոնական Երևանի ոչ պաշտոնական տեսակետ կամ առաջարկություն: Եվ եթե այս նամակը հրապարակվել է իշխանությունների գիտությամբ ու թույլտվությամբ, ինչը շատ հավանական է, ապա սա խոսում է բոլորովին այլ ու շատ ավելի վտանգավոր, տխուր եզրակացությունների տեղիք տվող իրողությունների մասին: Բայց նույն հաջողությամբ սա կարող է նաև լինել սադրիչ նախագիծ` բուն Ռուսաստանից:

Որովհետև ուղղակի թե անուղղակի, Բալայանն այս նամակով անում է այն, ինչ թե մինչև Հայաստանի կողմից ՄՄ-ին միանալու մասին հայտարարությունը, թե դրանից հետո, անում է Կրեմլի քարոզչական մեքենան` իր փորձագիտական հանրույթի միջոցով: Իսկ վերջինս իր խնդիրն է համարում համոզելը, որ բացի Ռուսաստանից, ո'չ Հայաստանը, ո'չ էլ Ղարաբաղը ապագա չունեն: Ավելին` նրանք համառորեն զարգացնում են այն գաղափարը, որ նորմալ է հանուն այդ ապագայի նաև անկախությունից ու ինքնիշխանությունից զրկվելը, որ հայերին անկախ պետականություն ունենալ պետք չէ: Սակայն եթե մինչ այսօր այս գաղափարը մեր վզին էր փաթաթվում դրսից, հիմա, փաստորեն, այն արվում է ներսից, մեր սեփական բալայանական ձեռքերով: Եվ այն փաստը, որ սույն գաղափարը հասունացվում է հենց Մաքսային միության ընդլայնմանը և Եվրասիական տնտեսական միության ստեղծման պրոցեսներին զուգընթաց, պետք է եզրակացնել, թե ինչ տեղ է վերապահվում մեզ այդ նոր աշխարհաքաղաքական բևեռում:

Հիմա ողջ հարցն այն է, թե ինչպես է բալայանական այս ինքնագործունեությանը արձագանքելու պետական իշխանությունը:

WHAT WILL REMAIN FROM KARABAKH AFTER RUSSIAN TROOPS?

The U.S. Department of State and OSCE have stated that the Azerbaijani
elections are non-compliant. Obama has not congratulated Ilham Aliyev,
and the chief of his staff Ramiz Mehtiyev has accused the United
States of interfering with the country's domestic affairs. So, it
would be logical to expect that the United States will not recognize
Aliyev as a legitimate president of Azerbaijan.

Anti-Azerbaijani moods are gathering momentum in Russia. The Russian
police suspects an Azerbaijani of Yegor Scherbakov's murder. The
disorders that followed the murder had an ethnic Azerbaijani identity.

The Russian government is using nationalism in its foreign policy. In
summer the Russian propaganda used Hrachya Harutiunyan's case as a
potential detonator of anti-Russian moods to bend Armenia towards it.

Armenia is in the Customs Union, already, and now it is Azerbaijan's
turn. The Russian government cannot resolve its issues with Aliyev,
and the problem is Karabakh rather than energy.

Russia needs to deploy troops in Karabakh. Moscow seems to have
managed to persuade Armenia, and evidence is Zori Balayan's letter.

Now they are trying to sway Azerbaijan.

What is Moscow preparing for Karabakh? And most importantly, where in
Karabakh will the Russian troops be based? The Armenian side hopes
to see them at the line of contact while Azerbaijan insists on the
border of former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region.

The political scientist Andrias Ghukasyan says Artsakh may find
itself in a situation when the Russian forces will stand between
Artsakh and Azerbaijan, and such a solution may interest the United
States. Return of one or two territories may be considered. Commenting
on his letter, Zori Balayan also hinted that someone wants to seize
the liberated territories from Karabakh and leave "10 kilometers". And
he is inviting the Russian troops to prevent this. How many kilometers
will the Russians leave?

Both the United States and Russia want to sway Aliyev and Turkey to
a settlement of the Karabakh conflict. The United States and Russia
may not be able to agree on the price of settlement, the number of
territories and kilometers. It is possible that they have agreed but
Aliyev has not.

Meanwhile, non-recognition of elections by the United States and
anti-Azerbaijani pronouncements in Moscow are good arguments. And
they will be used very soon.

The most horrible thing is that the Armenians will pay for the
so-called settlement. The question is: "How many regions?"
