Re: Regional geopolitics
My heart goes out to the family of the marine(Armenian decent/American) who was killed(post 118).
As I stated in one of my previous posts Afganistan is deadly at all times.
The Marines I have spoken to(many) and the regular Army guys(many) have all told me the same story.
It's a genuine buck rugged act and although they can take whatever spot they are ordered to take it is not actually winning the war. They clean an area so no one will come in the open field and fight strait up but they cannot tell the bad guys or do anything even when they walk one foot away from bad guys because they either blend in with regular population or go to safe havens(many). The poor villagers know when American forces leave they will be back and are afraid. It's not
Have to go
