ADVISOR TO DEFENSE MINISTER: ARMENIAN ARMY AND SOCIETY SHOULD BE READY FOR POSSIBLE LARGE-SCALE AGGRESSION OF AZERBAIJAN

Frequent ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani troops along the line of
contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan since
the end of European Games in Baku is a predictable phenomenon,
David Jamalyan , an advisor to Armenia's defense minister, said in
an interview with Panorama.am.

The Azerbaijani army's attempts to destabilize the situation on the
border were predictable, and the Armenian army is ready for such
developments, he said.

The use of new types of large caliber weapons by the enemy bears
evidence of a qualitatively new form of escalation at the border,
Jamalyan noted.

"From the very beginning when the ceasefire came into effect, the
Armenian side refrained from using large caliber weapons, but if the
enemy resorts to such actions, naturally our frontline units too cannot
watch from the sidelines. I should say that several mortar emplacements
of Azerbaijan have been destroyed by accurate fire of the Armenian army
over the past year. But for our retaliatory actions, the situation on
the border would have escalated further as the enemy would have become
much more insolent after feeling that their actions go unpunished,"
the official said adding that society, let alone the Armenian army,
should be ready for an escalation of tension on the border.

In his words, the readiness of the society and the army for a possible
aggression of the enemy and destabilization of the situation will not
allow us to relax and be perceived by the Azerbaijani side as an easy
target and will become a crucial deterrent against hostile attempts.

"In this case the ability to consolidate promptly is extremely
important. I am sure that the consolidation of our public in August
of last year and volunteers' visits to frontline positions were
noticed by Azerbaijan and had a sobering effect. Henceforth too, it
is necessary to bring the adversary around regularly so as to ensure
a lasting peace," D. Jamalyan said.

To remind, Azerbaijani troops continued to intensively violate the
ceasefire at the weekend along the line of contact between the armed
forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, according to the press service of
Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

The Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire about 320 times over the
indicated period. Over 5,000 shots were fired at Armenian frontline
positions from guns and artillery weapons of various calibers,
including 49 shells from 60 mm mortars, 29 grenades from RPG-7 and
AGS-17 grenade launchers, and over 200 shots from large-caliber machine
guns. The offensive actions of Azerbaijani troops were halted due to
prompt measures taken frontline units of Defense Army.

IN CASE OF WAR ARMENIA READY TO REMOVE ANY MILITARY OPERATION TO OTHER TERRITORIES

YEREVAN, JULY 24, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian army does everything to
avoid a war, but if you want peace, you must prepare for war. This
was the respond of Seyran Ohanyan to the question of one of the
participants of "Come home" program. More than 100 boys and girls
from 15 countries were hosted at the Defense Ministry on July 24.

The young people asked questions to the Minister which were mainly
connected with issue of Armenia's security in case of a possible war.

One of the boys from Russia asked the following question. "If Armenia
and Azerbaijan start fighting, will Russia help us?", to which
Seyran Ohanyan answered, "Numerous programs are implemented in the
Armenian army to make our army stronger. But we do everything to make
conditions, not only by force but also by diplomatic capabilities and
military cooperation, for international organizations and security
systems, such as the CSTO or NATO, to prevent the war. But even if
a war breaks out, we have no problem with fighting".

Another boy from Georgia was interested if the Armenian army can
liberate our historical lands. "Today we are ready to defend our
homeland and are on the way to becoming Great Armenia, no doubt. The
Armenian nation has always mutinied to see our future more secure.

Protection of Artsakh Armenians and liberation of many territories
proves that we are on that way. We cannot fulfill what you say in a
short-term. We must try to become more powerful", mentioned Seyran
Ohanyan.

A girl from Minsk asked no question but merely thanked the Minister
and the Armenian army. "When I used to live in Armenia, I did not
appreciate the Armenian army very much, but when I went to live there I
realized how powerful we are. I am very proud that my brothers served
in the Armenian army. I am happy that my friends also intend to come
and serve in the Armenian army", the girl said.

In answer to her the Defense Minister stressed such remarks inspire
them and promote their aspiration for greater achievements. "I am
thankful to your parents, your brothers who come and serve. The
experience of the Artsakh war has shown that Armenians can bring to
kneels the enemy outnumbering us", emphasized the Minister.

He mentioned that during similar meetings girls always ask if girls
will serve in the Armed Forced of Armenia or no.

"My answer to them is that men do not allow Armenian girls to serve.

But there are numerous girls in the army who serve not only in the
medical personnel but also in special units. We have well prepared
snipers, Armenian girls enter military educational institutions. 3
of them have already graduated, 11 still study. Most of them are from
Tavush", mentioned the Minster. According to him it is better if girls
conduct "lullaby revenge", meaning that the more children are born,
the more powerful we are.

Ադրբեջանի ՊՆ մամուլի ծառայությունը հուլիսի 25-ին հայտնել է, որ նախորդող գիշերը հայկական կողմի հետ ինտենսիվ փոխհրաձգություն է ընթացել ինչպես շփման գծի, այնպես էլ հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանի մի շարք հատվածներում, ինչի հետևանքով սպանվել է Ադրբեջանի ԶՈւ պայմանագրային զինծառայող Ֆաթալիև Էլդար Սախավեթ օղլուն (Fətəliyev Eldar Səxavət oğlu)։

Նշվում է, որ զինծառայողը սպանվել է Գետաբեկի հատվածում (սահմանակից է ՀՀ Տավուշի և Գեղարքունիքի մարզերին, մտնում է Ադրբեջանի ԶՈւ բանակային երրորդ կորպուսի պատասխանատվության գոտու մեջ-Ռազմինֆո)։

Հաղորդագրությունում նշվում է նաև, թե զինծառայողը սպանվել է «հայկական կողմի դիվերսիոն հարձակումը հետ մղելիս»։ Նկատենք, որ արդեն տևական ժամանակ է, ինչ ադրբեջանական կողմը բավական հազվադեպ է հայտնում կրած կորուստների մասին, ինչից կարելի է ենթադրել, որ, իրականում, գիշերվա «մարտերից» հետո գրանցված կորուստներն ավելի շատ են, ինչն էլ ստիպել է հայտնել գոնե մեկ սպանվածի մասին։

Նշենք, որ ադրբեջանական «Յենի Մուսավաթ» թերթի կայքը միջադեպի վերաբեյրյալ հրապարակել է հավելյալ տեղեկություններ՝ հղվելով սեփական աղբյուրներին։ Մասնավորապես նշվում է, որ հայկական զինուժի ստորաբաժանումները երեկ ձեռնարկել են գործողություն, ինչի արդյունքում Գեդաբեկի շրջանի Իվանովկա գյուղից շուրջ 12 կմ հեռավորության վրա շրջափակման մեջ է ընկել ադրբեջանցի շուրջ 40 զինծառայող։ Նրանց հաջողվել է դուրս գալ շրջափակումից, սակայն 1 սպանվածի և 8 վիրավորի գնով։ Նույն աղբյուրը նշում է նաև, որ սպանված պայմանագրային Ֆաթալիև Էլդարը դիպուկահար էր։

Տեղին է հիշեցնել, որ երեկ՝ հուլիսի 24-ին, ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանը, լրագրողների խնդրանքով Ադրբեջանի ռազմատենչ հայտարարությունները մեկնաբանելիս նշել էր. «Հորդորում եմ հակառակորդին զերծ մնալ տարբեր տիպի անկապ խոսակցություններից։ Ասում են` էս կանենք, էն կանենք, քարը քարի վրա չենք թողնի։ Քարը քարի վրա չթողնողը երևի թե Արցախյան ազատամարտի ժամանակ ամեն ինչ կթողներ և կգար ու կպաշտպաներ իր հայրենիքը»։

Այս հայտարարությունը բավական ծանր էին ընդունել Ադրբեջանի ՊՆ-ում, որտեղից կարճ ժամանակ անց տարածվեց պատասխան հաղորդագրություն, որում նշվում էր, թե «Սեյրան Օհանյանը, հավանաբար, մոռացել է որոշ բաներ, և Ադրբեջանի բանակն առաջիկայում կհիշեցնի իր ուժի մասին»։

Փաստացի, սակայն, այս հայտարարությանը հետևել է լարված իրավիճակը շփման գծում և հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանին, ինչի հետևանքով հակառակորդն ունի առնվազն 1 կորուստ։

Հավելենք, որ ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի մամուլի քարտուղար Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանը, անդրադառնալով այս միջադեպին իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում, գրել է. «Հայկական զինուժի ստորաբաժանումները պատասխան կրակ են բացել ըստ անհրաժեշտության և հակառակորդին պատճառել կորուստներ ու վնասներ: Հայկական կողմը կորուստներ չունի»։

ՀՀ ՊՆ մամլո խոսնակ Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանն իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրում է.

«Հուլիսի 24 –ի երեկոյան ժամը 19-ից սկսած՝ հակառակորդը կրկին շարունակել է ինտենսիվորեն խախտել հրադադարի ռեժիմը հատկապես Արցախի սահմանին և Տավուշի մարզում: Կրակոցները շարունակվել են ողջ գիշեր:

Կրակել են ինչպես մեծ տրամաչափի հրաձգային զենքերից, այնպես էլ 60 և 82 մմ-ոց ականանետերից:

Ընդհանուր առմամբ, խախտումների քանակը գերազանցում է 160-ը: Հայկական զինուժի ստորաբաժանումները պատասխան կրակ են բացել ըստ անհրաժեշտության և հակառակորդին պատճառել կորուստներ ու վնասներ: Հայկական կողմը կորուստներ չունի: Այժմ սահմանին հարաբերական անդորր է:

Ի դեպ, ադրբեջանական քարոզչամեքենան արդեն մի քանի օր է՝ ստահոդ լուրեր է տարածում սահմանային իրավիճակի մասին: Հորդորում ենք չտրվել նման սադրանքներին եւ հիմնվել միայն հայկական կողմի պաշտոնական տեղեկատվության վրա: Մենք ադրբեջանական քարոզչության մասին ավելի մեծ կարծիք ունեինք»:

TANK CREW OF ARMED FORCES OF ARMENIA TO TAKE PART IN RUSSIA'S "TANK BIATHLON, 2015"

YEREVAN, JULY 24, ARMENPRESS. The best tank crew selected from the
Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia has left for Moscow to get
ready for Russia's tank biathlon in 2015. The latter will be included
in the competition "International Army Games 2015" which is being
held for the 1st time. Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the press secretary of
the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Defense, told Armenpress that
our delegation was warmly received by the Armenian community in Russia.

In "Tank Biathlon, 2014" the Armenian tankers occupied the 2nd place
conceding the 1st place to the host country - Russia. Tank crews of
12 countries participated in the competition.
