- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I am not a bit surprised, sooner or later something like this had to happen because people had enough. Its very unfortunate that our enemies use this to their advantage. Thank you Mr. Kocharian for xxxxing with the people all this years, who would ever though the mindless sheep would strike back?

I had spoken to her earlier this morning. She sounded very depressed at the same time she was very grateful to hear my sentiments. She wanted faxes as documents of proof of support. So, please, fax the embassy. We can use the countless posts in this thread as content. Just cut and paste. Also send comments to the website of the Armenian President.

Levon must be punished for his many crimes against the Armenian Republic.

I just got off the telephone with a close friend from Yerevan. She said that large numbers of angry people have gathered at Levon Petrosian's home demanding answers from him. She also said that funeral bouquets were being placed at gate of his home and funeral music being played...

OK. This is a good start. I am glad that the state apparatus is taking this seriously. They need to close down every single one of these western funded media outlets and xxxx everyone that works for them... Hetq, A1 Plus and Armenianow must be next...

            Pro-West Broadcaster Yanked in Armenia

The only foreign radio programming in Armenia's native language was taken off the air and its Web site blocked as part of the country's state of emergency, the broadcaster said Tuesday. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty said in a statement that its two Armenian affiliates halted the broadcasts to comply with the emergency decree that allows media to only report news that is sanctioned by the government. Its Armenian-language programs have been replaced by music, the broadcaster said. Armenian President Robert Kocharian declared the 20-day state of emergency Saturday night following clashes between government forces and demonstrators protesting alleged fraud in the Feb. 19 presidential election. Eight people died and more than 100 were injured in the fighting. Demonstrators supporting opposition candidate and former president Levon Ter-Petrosian protested the official results from last month's election that put their candidate a distant second to Prime Minister Serge Sarkisian. The Prague-based broadcaster, which receives funding from the U.S., said its driver was beaten by police officers in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, on Saturday while the correspondent he was working with managed to escape. Another journalist for the broadcaster was threatened by government forces in the town of Gumri, it said. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty said it was adding Web domains to get around the blocking of its Armenian language Web site in the country. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty was established in 1949 to spread pro-Western news and promote democratic values and institutions in countries behind the Iron Curtain. It broadcasts in 28 languages to some 20 countries.

To: The Armenian Embassy, Washington, DC
              Fax: 202-319-8330
              Subject: My Support

              Dear Sir/Ma'am

As a second generation Armenian-American, who has Special Residency Status in Armenia and plans to repatriate, I would like to express my support for the current and incomming administrations, concerning the recent sad events in Yerevan. With that said, I encourage the Kocharian administration to take all nessesary actions to take down and bring to justice the perpetrators of the unrest and violence that has caused loss of life and political instability in the republic.

I consider these perpetrators to be enemies within the Armenian state whose nefarious aims give Armenia's enemies aid and comfort and creates the potencial to cause the downfall of the two Armenian republics (Armenia and Artsakh).

In short, the consequenses of not swiftly ousting the provocateaurs, put the the entire Armenian nation in peril.

God's speed to President Kocharian, President-Elect Sarkisian and the Armenian People.

              Sincerely,

PS: Please let me know if there is anything I can do, here in the USA, to aid the Armenian people as they endure the injustice put upon them at this time.

Armenia pressures opponents, arrests 30 for riots

Armenian police have arrested 30 opposition activists for starting a riot in which eight people were killed, the prosecutor-general said on Tuesday, in a clampdown on opponents during a state of emergency. The opposition has accused the government of rigging last month's presidential election and vowed to press ahead with protests once the emergency laws are lifted. The government has refused to negotiate with them. But the ex-Soviet state's top military commander said he needed the emergency laws to ensure stability. "Thirty people have been detained for provoking mass disturbances on March 1, not obeying the police and violent actions against policemen," the prosecutor-general's office said in a statement. Prime Minister Serzh Sarksyan officially won 53 percent of the ballot on Feb. 19 while his main rival, former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan, won 21.5 percent.

Robert Kocharyan, the current president and Sarksyan's ally, has ordered the army onto the streets and imposed emergency laws during riots on Saturday -- the worst civil violence since Armenia's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Police had arrested a handful of prominent opposition figures -- for allegedly plotting a coup or hoarding firearms -- during daily mass demonstrations in the capital Yerevan. Armed soldiers continue to patrol Yerevan's streets and armoured personnel carriers stand in the main square imposing the military's control and ready to counter any demonstrators. "The situation in Yerevan is fully under control," General Seyran Ohanyan, the chief of Armenia's general military staff, told a news conference. "If it's needed, we'll help police to guarantee public order."

The opposition has vowed to keep up rallies. "This is a terror which goes to a different level," said Arman Musinyan, Ter-Petrosyan's spokesman. The government has said it is not yet prepared to negotiate with opponents it blames for Saturday's violence. "I don't see any possibility of dialogue at this stage," Kocharyan's spokesman, Viktor Soghomonyan, told a news briefing. "The wounds are still very fresh, very open." Armenia, whose traditions and culture are deeply entwined with its ancient Christian heritage, lies in a Caucasus mountain region that is emerging as a key route for pumping Caspian Sea oil and gas to world markets, though Armenia has no pipelines of its own. Envoys from Europe, the United States and the Vatican have flown to Armenia since the state of emergency to talk to the government and opposition leaders who say the laws are an abuse of the authorities' powers. "I call on all parties to refrain from using force and to engage in dialogue in order to overcome political differences," EU external relations commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner said in a statement.

                      Yes Nikol Pashinyan

He was leading the rally in front of the embassy. If you watch Haylur today they will show you how he got on the phone with levon and levon told him to stay there in front of the embassies because it was the most strategic place. He was also encouraging people to grab stones and put up a fight with the police. During the fighting he was calling on the police to join the protesters. I think he is an editor of the "independent" newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak".

I haven't heard anything about him getting arrested. "Grzo" is on the run from what I've heard. I also heard that manvel grigorian got arrested from a friend of mine who has relatives in Echmiadzin but I don't know if that's true.
