well I wasn't looking at their coffee drinking habits ! 'Social clubs' that become centres of gossip and spreading hatred against other Armenians. That's not politics, that's breaking up and weakening communities!

Where are you getting this nonsense from? Most Iranians really don't care about Islam.

Iranians women can marry whichever men they want, who's stopping them? Don't let the Iranian government speak for the Iranian people. Don't generalize Iranians either

So you still believe that the Hemshin people are more closely related to you than Iranians? Come on man... Iranians and Armenians are racially and culturally brothers, deal with it.

Oh and by the way, go ahead and marry that Iranian girl that you like, no one will stop you, and if her parents are for some weird reason against it, marry her anyways.

        Peace and love, bro.

Are the Americans also your brothers and can they also come and marry your women?

          U.S. military bases

At least the Russians seldom admix with Armenians and they certainly aren't a demographic threat to Armenia. The same can't be said of Iran and what you are advocating is suicide for a small ethnic group such as the Armenians.

Hemshin people speak a dialect of Armenian, they are pretty much Armenian when it comes to blood. the only reason they are separated from us is historical reasons and religion.

Is this supposed to be funny? Your ignorance to the reality of Irano-Armenian friendship and brotherhood is ridiculous.

Also if an Armenian wants to marry an Iranian, he should be allowed to, there's nothing wrong with an Armenian marrying an Iranian.

Putting aside everything else, in practise Armenians and Iranians marrying is next to impossible due to religious reasons. Not sure about the Iranian side but the Armenian side of the family will never approve of such a thing because the Armenian will have to convert to Islam and that is one thing that is unacceptable for Armenians. I am also sure that the Iranian would not want their son or daughter to convert to Christianity.

Even if say the Iranian is not religious, Armenians would still consider him to be Muslim. Not that Armenians are anti-Muslim or anything, just that we do not like to marry outside of Christianity and perhaps non-religiosity. Look at the Armenians in Iran, Syria, Lebanon etc. They are surrounded by Muslims and these communities have barely assimilated in the course of 300 years for the Iranian-Armenians and 90 years for Lebanon and Syria. There are few marriages outside of the community in those countries and when there is such a thing, it is frowned upon and the married person is generally not accepted back.

This just seems stupid because most Iranians could care less about Islam, many have never even been to a mosque in their lives, especially after the revolution. Although, I'm sure that an Iranian would just fake becoming a Christian to appease the parents. Most Iranians care more about the girl than the religion

Oh I know that their are Armenian living in Iran in a sea full of Azaris. Much the same is also seemingly true of Georgia.

Iran is a theocratic state and Muslim women in Iran aren't allowed to marry a non-Muslim men. The problem with Islam is that it isn't a reasonable religion and it expects everything on it's own terms. Which is no small part of the reason why it is always in conflict with other faiths and cultures.

Azar, with the greatest respect I object you as a non Armenian expressing
opinions (preaching) to Armenians why its not too bad marrying non Armenians
                      whatever nationality or religion.

If you have strong views and ideas and wish to promote interethnic/inter-religious
marriages you should do so to your pier group.

It is bad enough Armenians having that point of view.

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests
