What does 'thick black eyebrows' have to with Middle Easterness? Do you not realise that ethnic diffusion is very gradual, there are no cut-offs. That's why it is cultural/civilisational boundries that exist. You should see a friend of mine of Dutch background. Armenian ethnic origin is predominantly South Caucasian.
Armenia was just a part of the continuos stretch of European civilisation (actually occidental civilisation should be the proper term) before Turks cut us off.

Well, personally I do not pretend to be bevahe as if I am European. I recommend to you the same. Inferiority complexes about your identity doesn't bring you anywhere. I know that Armenia people do not have that inferiority complex. It is you, diaspora, who try to consider them as western to make the Americans or French accept you. I understand your situation, it is hard to live as a diaspora, but I recommend you to make peace with your identity.

i thought that i'm the only person that give you information about muslim armenians.
first of all i should give some dates that we were converted.there are some different reasons for this.
for ex. my grandpa..he was the only person remained from his family.whole family my friends.when his family died he was about 3.a turkish family had adopted him.he know his father' name but not his mom's..he had told us that this hurts him so much.he had no idea about when he was converted.and added, he doesn't care.he was doubtful about god.
and i can say you much more stories.one of my friend's grandma was left in turkey.she had 6 more elder bro/sisters and her parents had to left her in turkey.they commend her to a turkish family.she was 5 years old.and she was converted too.she did never know what happened to her family.
and my last story from a friend of mine again.her grandpa -age of 5- was stay alone.his father was killed by turks, and his mom wasn't strong enough to take him too,as he said.as an orphan he has sent to a special school by kazım karabekir (maybe you know).he graduated from an high school from trabzon.this is so important because some couldn't even go to a primary school.
but don't think that all hamshenes are muslim.there are lots of cripto-cristians.but they are families who seemed change their religion before/during the genocide to look like turks.
(i must explain there are so many christian turks especially otherside of blacksea.so these times islam was not the reason, the importance was being turk.you know that kurds are muslim too.)
i read here a sentence like "if they call themselves turk or kurd..."it's impossible to see kurd in black sea.maybe turk, mostly georgian,laz and greek.hamshen isn't the only place shelters armenians, in all east blacksea there are lots of armenians.
our grandparents want to hide their identity, but 2.generation learned it when they saw asala's terrorits speech on tv.they recognized that they can understand what they say.but they keep on hiding cause of horror.but today we (3rd) have no fear.there are too many armenians in turkey that they don't know their real nacionalities who are left, kidnapped or was too unlucky that loose their family before escape from turkey.
who gave 10 pts to armenia in eurovision?
but now i see that some of u don't want to believe this.
it was a great trauma for those people.i know some people who has nothing in their memory before their 15 years old etc.
history, sociology, religion are not enough to describe what happened.psychology is needed.

your grandparents were lucky compare to those people.how can u blame them now?
are all real armenians -as u describe- christians?is there any atheists or sth there?how frequently do u go to churches?religion is not the main thing for us.we don't care the difference between men-women in islam like many turks.
these expressions about hamsenes hurt us friends!
hereafter we won't care what u say about us, but we'll keep on saying 1915 never again!!!!!

If you are talking muslim armenians in Turkey, They call themself as Turk. I dont think they will care much for armenians.

They don't really call themselves Turks, they were once obligated to do so, and they were obligated to change their names, surenames, religion and live with turks so they are basically lost Armenians. They do rekon they are armenians and they do want to be with armenians. i have a friend she spends her free time reading stuff about armenia, learns armenian and she even speaks hamshanahay, it's slightly different from western armenian.

I would read quran, just out of curiosity to know what does islam teach.

i mean what does the book teach to muslims. when you speak to them they deny that the quran pushes people into terrorism, and so on. so to me it would be interesting to know the content of that foolish book

as you can see it teaches nothing... thats why there are a lot of mullas and hodjas speaking from their azzes about what it says...first of all they claim that islam dont push people to be muslims but first thing the prophet does he takes a sword and attacks the neighbourhood in the name of islam.. then they claim that islam respects other religions but then again that prophet breaks all totems in mekka when they are victorious over infidels... actually with all my respect for people ideas i think those catholics are no better.. arent they the ones who burned people just because they were told to be witches.. but go ahead and read... reading does not kill anybody... but there are 7 billion people on this world and i think nobody quite understands what the books say so i can easily say that they dont say anything... all of us cant be dumb eh? actually those religions are now ancient and people try to create new gods as we have done before and again we will be in deep shiiiit because of them... we humans suck as our beliefs do

my nshanaz had read it in Arabic, i often ask him stuff about it..
at school i had to do some courseworc related to islam and to be honest many things are similar to the bible. Not the terror or anything like that lol but to be modest, not to display the beauty, mary virgen etc...

problem with the books is that they are so open to discussion so everybody can say whatever they want.. not being spesific about anything is the key... because we believe what we cannot understand... understanding is the worst enemy of religions... and understanding requires brains.. religions dont... i prefer my brains... even if it is a duck brain
