Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Its very xxxxed up over there, when i came back to Armenia from siberia in 1997, it was HELL from the second we crossed the Vrastan/Hayastan border.

Where else does KGB knock on your door at 5:30 in the morning and say its our friend's birthday, give some money or we gonna open a case on you?

Or where else do they bring home a 19 year old's body with 2 Ak47 bullets on his side and say this coward commited suicide?

xxxx it, people need to get together, go back, a revolution needs to take place
    couldn't agree with you more....
i didn't suggest to look at armenia with an open mind someone esle did. i still don't see the poin though. money is being stolen from the poor people and with this money houses are being buiilt for the bunch of idiots that live in Armenia and yet some clever person is suggesting that no matter for whom the house is built. it's built in armenia and not in israel. so we can go to armenia look at those palaces and say waw it's cute, it's not ours but at least it's in our country.
    thats funny!!!

I don't know what is your point Fedayeen. The content of your post is not the issue here, we all know that there are serious sociological problems in Armenia. However, you seem to love digging out trash about our nation and display it for all to see. And the worst part is you do this without a proper context, without objectivity, without balance. I personally know of a few Artsakh war veterans who would tear you a new butthole for your less-than-smart comments. However, I also know a few Yerevantis and Disaporan filth that talk like you.

I guess how one sees things is all a matter of 'personal' perspective and personality.

I have seen some great posts by you, however, the above comment made by you is very disappointing. Revolution you say? Who is going to start it? When? Idiots in our society who don't have the sense and/or objectivity to put things in a proper perspective always fall victim to American and Turkish manipulations. I bet you and Chika would love to get some funds from 'Soros' and go topple Kocharyan in order to build a better Zionist lacky Armenia like they did in Georgia.

Personally, I am glad we have Kocharyan, Sarkissian, and Voskanian in power today.

Whoa...chill there buddy, and stop assuming. You definatly do not know where i'm coming from.

Whatever i said, is TRUE, its reality, but perhaps i generilized because stuff like that not only happens in Armenia, but everywhere. But come on, if you own people do xxxx like that, it really gets you.

I hope you not calling me a Yerevantsi, because thats the last place i would like to be in Armenia. AND NO ITS NOT personal' perspective and personality Its called REALITY

People need to stand up, and overthrow that dumbass, we need a person whos a people's person and hell with zionist, thats the last thing we need

Personally your an idiot if your proud of Kocharyan

The present social depravation is precisely a result of close to a century of Communism. That is what it does to people. Before those like you who complain about the injustices of the world, it is preferred that you at least have some grounding knowledge in history and economics before you advocate the things you do. Have you forgotten of the long lines and shortages? Lines for bread and toilet paper? Or what about that good ole Soviet ingenuity and architecture that was almost as good as a sand castle? And just how are people living today? Is it because no one is equal?

This is to everyone: Either discuss in a calm and rational manner without the blatant insults and name calling, or we don't discuss this at all. Please folks, let's try to keep some coherence.

                    Re: A Modest Armenian House

I have a theory that discussion of Armenia's politics, how good or bad the situation is, and how little or much the government is doing should be left to people living in Armenia.

Personally, everytime I say things which I haven't heard directly from a Hayastanci, I feel like a hypocrit who may try to feel the situation but can't really understand it. As someone who is not in Armenia, I try to limit myself to giving full support to Hayastancis, but reserve my judgment until the time that the politics and the situation affects me directly.

Trust me i know more that you think i do.... so if you know so much tell me one thing what was causing those lines for bread that you are mentioning? the collaps of the soviet.
I am a person who is totally against the soviet union although i know there were many advantages and yet i think people were living fine. there was no hunger in the country, noone was homeless. people are homeless and the bloody kocharian is not doing anything at all to improve the situation.

what do you mean by this line i've coloured above? you don't mean people are living good do you? if you do then honestly you need to get more knowledge about Armenia.
For a human to survive the first basic thing is food, air, water and shelter. if a person doesn't have shelter nor proper food, how is this person supposed tu survive?
Just because there are plenty of bars, places of attracktion for you and me to visit while we are on holiday doesn't mean the rest of the people can afford to go this places. I honestly feel sorry for armenians.
