Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    • I personally have no problem attacking denialist, who ever they are.Its another thing if that attack is only comprised of conspirity theories or denial .Then we are not any better then what we despise.

He once said the kids in his elemtary school(in Turkey) didnt like him because of his using the language better than the others, first I didnt believe it but I 'm begining to believe it, it could be really true.

          • Its morally bancrupt idea to deny someone elses suffering just because you are inflicted of the same.We dont have to support their claims until they do ours, but to attack them with denial or accusing them of concpiricy in the crime of genocide of Armenians without substential proof is illadvised and converts us into being like them.
I think this may be our point of disagreement some of us have christian principals that we'll defend over anything else and some of us believe (like them) The eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth concepts .It is just a question of prioritys of principals.

            • I thought that this forum had established a rule - no "Jew talk". It is an unfortunate - but opbviously necessary rule. I don't like any type of censorship - but I don't feel like wasting my time addressing the same conspiracy theory and Jew hate posts - been there - done that. There are real issues worthy of discussion concerning the Armenian Genocide and little of it has much of anything to do with "Jews". Of course I have no problem pointing out and opposing those who directly deny or support denial of the Armenian Genocide (or any other genocide for that matter). Jews who deny the Armenian Genocide and Armenians who deny the Jewish genocide are the worst types as each should knwo better, understand the pain and be sympathetic etc. Of course we all know and understand Isreals shameful position and that of some Jewish organizations - we can also understand why they have taken such stances even if we can never of course condone it and we must also continue to speak against this sort of thing and openly challange those who deny - whoever they may be. However this juvineille level Jew bashing is disgusting and I will always oppose it - just as I will (and do) oppose any type of racism. Those who hold and express such views do us a diservice in so many ways. Anyway phantom has made some very good points...shame it seems that he is talking to that proverbial wall again. And heh - just what does "banned" meen in this forum - time to change your screen name? These people who have repeatedly violated forum rules and have attacked people and spammed the forum and such should not be allowed to rejoin (and do exactly the same all over again). It has ruined this forum. I think the forum needs to go to an approved membership or such for posting. Something is really needed to keep us from going through this same crap over and over again. It is just this sort of thing that has prevented me from joining other similar forums. I am a serious person and thi is just kiddie BS. It is downright embarrasing. I am also chagrined that more posters have not also expressed their views similarly and condemned this racist tripe. Remember what happens when one just says nothing and lets tyhisa sort of thing continue.

Well he did answer the Q by posting some articles, but that raises another Q what was done in that respect was enough?
was it done to the point of exhaustion and defeat?

By the same token it is our responsibility as Armenians to find middle ground or agree to disagree. I feel it is a worthwhile attemp to pinpoint the differences between the various Armenian thoughts so we can unite not only when we have to ,but always without degrading or dismissal of those thoughts.

                  • Tatoul,

phantom proposed a plan to get the Armenian Genocide recognized. I understand that you are a strong critic of the plan, but I would like to hear your ideas on how the Armenian people can get the Genocide recognized internationally.

Do I need to repost their posts where they call for Jews to be turned into cat food, gassed, burned and so on and so forth - there is no middle ground with people like this. Comon now - get real.
