Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

That is all we kept on saying. Without acknowledging our Ottoman past, we can not name ourselves as the Turks since we are the succeeding peoples of the Ottoman Muslim Millet. That is why we kept the Turkish as the official language since we formed the Turkish nation as of 1923. However, the Ottoman Muslim Millet was formed around the Turkic Oguz population since the Ottoman Empire was the empire of a Turkish dynasty who were known as Osmanogullari.

Why we cannot see all these things on every Turk, comes that Turks are a bastard-people (a mix of many people), a mix of eastern people mongolians and chinese, a mix with persians and kurds and also caucasian people, armenians, greeks, all of these people lived in this region before the mix came. However, "turks" stay to talk about being "turkish". You get an ID-crisis, because "TURK" doesn't exist, "MIX" does exist. Even recent studies in Iran on azeri people had shown that they were turkified (mixified) and so was their language. They are actually from aryan descent. many history studiers, for example herodotus, talk about old medes persians armenians but never about turks. this mix-people came later from the eastern steppes to colonize the area.
concerning these points, turks dont have the right to act superior as turks because they arent turkish, they are a mix. turks are the only people in the world who arent pure.and they dont have the right to declare their so-called superiority and to hide their ID-crisis. So do you think a mix-people have the right to colonize the area?
            many thanks
All I wanted to say about this is that it's not a bad thing that a country is a mixture of different etnicities. Iran is a perfect example of this. No pure race exists. All nations were formed by different tribes coming together.

The problem is that the Turks FORCED their "identity" on the locals.
The people didn't mix as such. The fact that Armenia and Asia Minor are turkified is the result of FORCED turkification, rape, unbearable taxation and persecution, janissary, stealing of women and children, etc.

            My two cents...
Four things denialist Turks do when they are confronted with facts:

            I. They change the subject (e.g. they copy/paste tons of garbage to divert attention).
II. They project (e.g. they replace "Turk" with "Armenian" and vice versa and they regurgitate Armenian history).
III. They offend (e.g. they cuss, threaten and/or mock).
IV. They shut up and say nothing.

This is true. The same also happened to Bulgarians.

Hellektor well what about the conquests of the Persian Empire?

The Persians sacked Greek City after City, untill the Greeks started to unite against them, we still celebrate the heroic Defence of Thermopalae by Leonidas and his 300 Spartans.

Iran expanded by the sword, as did Turkey, how Turkey and Iran where formed is not so much relavent today as what they do today.

Iran was one half of the world and Rome the other.
They fought for centuries against one another on Armenian soil.
You should also read some Armenian history to know how much they both f**t us. Time again they "invited" our kings and treacherously killed them, put out their eyes and imprisoned them. As if Armenia was their toy.

The Ottomans did worse than all of these empires. They too fought against Persia for 300 years on Armenian territory and turned it into ruin.
The fact that I was born in Iran is the consequence of one of these wars.

My own ancestors were forcefully migrated to Iran by Shah Abbas (Safavid) in 1604, who was fighting against the Ottomans. He burned the entire region to cut the supply routes thus, the advance of the Ottomans.

It's believed that out of two to three hundred thousand Armenians forcefully relocated, about half died, mostly drowning in the Arax River. However we have forgotten the dark days and since Shah Abbas settled us in an area near Isfahan and let us build a new city that the Armenians called Nor Jugha (New Julfa) in memory of their home (Jugha in Nakhijevan usurped by "Azeris"), the Armenians flourished and were a respected minority.

Yes, they were empires and they harmed us, the Armenians the most. So did the Byzantines who weakened Armenia to a point that now Turkey exists.
The Turks "won" the "battle" of Manazkert only as a result of the treachery by the Byzantine Emperor Romanus Diogenes's commander of rearguard, Andronicus Ducas, who in the middle of battle, retreated to Constantinople to get a higher political position for himself.

It's HIS statue the Turks should cast in pure gold not that genocidal bandit Mustarah Hammal Cacaturk.

And what about Alexander the xxxxxx who burned down the magnificent Persepolis? I hate him for that and am infinitely happy he died young and did not enjoy his "feats". He never reached Armenia though.

My point was just that it wasn't only the Turks who expanded at sword point.

There was more then one reason why the Battle of Manzikert was lost. Andronicus Ducas was not the only traitor that day, other important officers left with him.

Alexander the Great didn't burn down Persopolis because of Malice, he did it in a drunken rage while he wasn't really himself. Alexander's Justification for invading the Persian Empire was the earlier Persian Invasions of Greece and occupation of Greek Cities.

But you never ask yourself that this thing of being "Turkish" is just a mix of people that has named itself "Turk". I think I'm am going to do some things maybe you understand then what I mean. This is not an attack, it's just logica
In Turkey, the governments do not say that the Circassians, Albanians, Bosniaks, Pomaks, Kurds, and others are the Turks, however, the governments claim that they are all Turkish people, and the citizens of Republic of Turkey. Nevertheless, I am a Karachay Turk and I know where we come from, just like I know that Rebublic of Turkey was founded by the Ottoman Turks, just like I know that the Ottoman Empire and the Seljuk State was formed by the Oguz Turks. Perhaps, it might disappoint you, but naturally, there are still quite a bit of ethnic Turks in Turkey eventhough you like to envisage the "Turks" quite differently.
