Swedish Parliament to re-run vote on Armenian Genocide Resolution

The Swedish Parliament will hold a second vote on the Armenian Genocide resolution in 2011, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt stated in his March 25 interview with Turkish NTV.

It is wrong to adopt political decisions on the events which took place 100 years ago. What should be in question now is 2015, when Turkey may become a full-fledged EU member, rather than 1915, Bildt said.

He expressed a hope the resolution-complicated Turkish-Swedish relations will shortly be normalized. Minister Bildt gave assurances that that Sweden is a friendly state to Turkey, RIA Novosti reports.

On March 11 the Swedish Parliament approved an Armenian Genocide resolution. A week before, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs approved a similar resolution. Turkey recalled its Ambassadors to the U.S and Sweden in protest.

ANKARA (Combined Sources)—Turkey is demanding written guarantees from Washington that the Armenian Genocide resolution, approved by a key congressional committee in early march, will not be brought to a full floor vote in the House of Representatives.

“Ankara should have written guarantees that the resolution will not be put on the House floor. Only in this case Ambassador Tan will return to Washington,” Taraf daily quoted a government source speaking on condition of anonymity.

Turkey recalled its Ambassador to the US, Tamik Tan, minutes after the adoption of the Armenian Genocide resolution by the House Committee on Foreign Relations.

Meanwhile, Ambassador to Sweden Zergun Koruturk, who was recalled after the Swedish Riksdag passed a resolution recognizing the genocide of Armenians, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Pontiac Greeks, has already returned to Stockholm.

No insult intended. For example, immigrants may work as Armenian language teachers or homekeepers for wealthy Armenian families. That's both a job a turkish workers may not want or are incapable of doing anyway.

You see how ignorant you are about your own country.

1. The Armenian schools exist in Istambul for more then 100 years and they never needed teachers from Armenia. Actually textbooks for Armenian schools in Armenia were edited and printed in Istambul (Pols) in 1921. I have one of those. Actually Pols was a great centre of Armenian Language and Literature and the Armenian schools of Pols (Istambul) still are the best.
2. Wealthy Armenians of Istambul (the most of them are wealthy) hair armenian staff by their choice (as Armenians work better than turks in any sense) and the fact that turks wouldn’t wish to work for Armenians is a complit bullxxxx as most of the servants of wealthy Armenian families are turks.
3. There never were more than 15-20.000 Armenian migrants in turkey (turkish sociologists research). Even in that your primer is delusional. so for deporting 100.000 Erdogan will need to deport Armenians who was born there and whos families live there long befor word "turk" was invented.

Armenia's are interested in peace to the point that it provides capitulation by the Turkish side. The reverse argument also holds true.

You might be right when it comes to the deportation of illegal immigrants in general, but Erdogan expressed his intent to deport these 100,000 illegal Armenians not because they are illegal, but because they are Armenians. It is a kind of response to the genocide resolutions worldwide.
