In USA, black americans form 12% of the population, and 35 (or more, I don't remember) of the prison population.

In Canada, they form around 6% of the population, and 4% of the prison population.

Also, on the population density aspect, I will have to disagree. Most Canadians live in the Quebec City/Windsor axe, which is just as dense as the States. In fact, the crime rate is much higher in the aboroginal population, who are a small number on a very large territory (all that reaaally cold part nobody goes to).
I think the ethnic makeup is much more diverse in the states. I will look that up. And a growing part of the prison population of California are Armenians.

I see this all the time. Many Armenian immigrants come here, their parents open up a business, make money, forget about their kids, and just buy a car, give it to them, their kids grow up xxxxed up. I went to an innner city high school, full of mexicans, asians and armenians. I saw this xxxx all the time.
i see spoiled 16 year old armenian kids with bmw's and benz driving around, unmannered brats.

it doesnt matter what you have or drive, you are still low class and vulgar :P

      money doesnt make the person

i blame the families more, i agree. Its the way they are raised, or not raised at all.The quality of families are becoming less and less everyday.

Then income distribution will have to be the winner.
But sorry to dissapoint you. At its densest Canada has 3,900 people/square km, While New York City avarages a whopping 14,000 people/square km. Here's some links:

good thread here lotus. i have to agree that people should be allowed to own guns. and at the same time i also think that there should be certain restrictions. i think you guys already hashed out most of the views and ideas on this so i guess theres not much more to say.

I really can't say on this one, You ban guns and like lotus said they will find an alternative way to harm others, You dont ban guns and they harm one another with them. So either way you arnt really taking the violence away. Good thread Lotus.

well no point in saying where i stand on this subject, because i'm guessing you can allready tell.

About the assault weapons and missiles, why not?
the police and the army have em what happens if lets say one of those guys flipps out why should citizens have equal firepower.

Remember the Tank thing in San Diego. well that could have all been preveted if we were alllowed to own anti-tank and personal missiles.

I have a strange fascination with guns. They scare me for obvious reasons but they are pretty hot looking as material things go. Shiny metal, oooh. Ever time I find myself around a cop with a gun in his holster I have the urge to touch it. Is that werid? Maybe I should get checked out by a doc, but then again maybe I'm not alone??? I've seen some pretty nice guns out there that just make me feel things maybe a GUN shouldn't make me feel. Ermmm, yeah. That said, I agree with this whole guns don't kill people, people kill people business, but I also believe a lot of people out there should never EVER be allowed near a gun. Ever. So maybe they should be banned except for at the shooting range and places where you go to hunt. Anyway, what do I know about these things......

So am I sick in the head, or is it ok that I want to touch it??

Another things about guns... A lot of the time people end up getting hurt by their own guns. I don't know the exact statistic but I know that's true....
